Really annoying font color but you do realize that Liston knocked out Patterson twice in the first round. That's not exactly a long time

I partially agree with you, but I think...if Sonny fought all 4 of them...he would lose more than once.

Agree with most of that, I think Liston beats them all. Except I'd make him a pretty narrow favourite against Tyson not clearcut.

Liston would probably beat them all.

Liston was a terrific fighter, but not as BIG as some here are giving him credit for. He might have 20 pounds on a prime Dempsey but probably almost nothing in terms of height or ACTUAL reach, and I've seen Liston caught with punches and counter-punches from "smaller" guys who weren't as accurate or powerful as Dempsey. And let's not assume Dempsey didn't use lateral movement, we know he did.
Liston might beat him, he might not. Liston had extra weight and great strength, but Dempsey had nimble feet and lots of tricks and might spin or wrestle his way out of being man-handled, or feed in some fast shocking punches against Liston's slower thudding ones. Hey, he might even be strong and clever enough to negate Liston's strength and man-handle Sonny a bit too.
Dempsey wasn't a "cute" mover, but quick, athletic, nimble on his feet and liked to circle as much as come straight forward. And Liston liked to circle or box at a distance one jab at a time, and would press forward to some extent but withdraw and show caution when hit with some dangerous punches. Dempsey's not necessarily going to stand flat-footed and try to blast liston out like Cleveland Williams did.

Better. If you could go one shade lighter it would be great.

I'd pick him over Frazier and Dempsey, but i'm not sure whether he gets past the very durable Marciano. Liston has a long jab, but he is not tall at all and the master boxers that Marciano fought were faster, which makes up for the gap in reach. If this one goes past 6 rounds, i'm not sure Liston can take what Rocky will keep dishing out.

I'm pretty confident that Tyson knocks him out. He'd have the longer wingspan against Tyson, but actually be the smaller man in terms of weight and has only one inch in height on him. Throughout his career, Tyson has fought almost exclusively opponents who were 6'3-6'5 and had no trouble reaching them. They were also all over 210lbs, whereas Liston only beat one quality opponent of that (Tyson's) size during his entire career. In a head-to-head sense, Tyson has the better credentials going in as he's more proven against men his own size.

Mikey is also lightyears ahead of Liston in terms of speed. Liston's combinations are slow and look more like a quick, long series of single punches, including that wide overhand right. Tyson throws anything and in rapid succession that is just as much fluid as it is furious; watch the Berbick bout. Tyson also has the significantly better chin and didn't quit as blatant as Liston did in/near his prime.
