What a jab, real destroyer. Listons reach and accuracy was amazing

That's absolutely nuts. Especially taking into account that he was stopped 12 other times in his career. Doesn't seem like he'd have that hard of a chin with that record, but I guess he did.

His head was on a constant swivel, that uppercut at the end was hellish.
Also, how cool of a name is Scrap Iron Johnson?

There's a right hand at the 1.51 mark just before the stoppage that should have torn his head off.How did he take that?

Wow, Liston looks somewhat less horrible than Johnson.

    People paid to see this?

Yeah, you can hear, they are really enjoying themselves.

People who love boxing tend to like this sort of thing, boxing and that.

have a look at sonny skipping to the strains of nighttrain by james brown.poetry
he only looked slow compared to ali and by then who knows how old he was.at his peak in the late 50's he was brutal.two 15" fists at the end of a 84" reach and he was under 15st.**** on by the mafia and loads more besides,in other circumstances he could have been a real gent.

This is the last year of Liston's career,he was officially 37 but more probably over 40.He looks ok in there.

    Wow. Send him a valentine.

Sonny was a great but limited fighter. He was quite slow, of hand and foot but very powerful and quite skilled. I'm not such a fetishist for his dimensions but whatever...

But this apologist crap about him not being a union busting, leg-breaking thug is utter ****.

Frazier was also adamant that Johnson was a very, very hard match-up for him.

I wonder if he was the type of fighter who could come into a fight with or without a certain mindset. If he crumbled under abuse at times just to get it over with and on the flip side could take ungodly punishment when he was motivated.
