That's one of the reasons I respect Machen so much and consider this fight to have been a "moral victory"...there was a certain "badassedness" to Machen's approach and performance in this fight. Sure he didn't win, but what was he supposed to do..get himself mugged and ko'ed by Liston?:bbb
It was almost as if Eddie was saying, 'Im not gonna win you Big Bear, but either are you' Or 'you may get the decision, but you lost the war' It did cement Eddie Machen as the rightful #2 ranked Heavyweight.
