Sonny Liston VS Evander Holyfield?

Holyfield. Better boxer. Better at close range. Better at mid range. Has a good long range game of his own despite Liston's long jackhammer power jab being the best factor there, and would be able to mix with Liston. Tough as nails and I'm not sure Liston would want to take his power over the distance as Holyfield kept coming.

Liston would need to use his jab on Holyfield and then rip him with a big swinging shot and damage him after with combinations, but I don't think his footwork was good enough to close on Holyfield. If Holyfield brawls in that circumstance I still think Evander could fight his way out. In the trenches Holyfield is more proven against tougher fighters and didn't just have four or five years against the top dogs. I don't think Holyfield needs to box to win this. Liston was mean, but Holyfield is one of the toughest to lace them up. A lot of the men who made Liston's legacy by getting demolished would also get knocked out by Holyfield.
