I know this fight has been threaded before but I can't recall it. What are the Lounge's opinions? 15 rounds...with Liston as champion just after the second Patterson fight.

Liston gives Chavulo possibly the worst beating of his career. George don't punch hard enough to really bother Sonny. And Sonny really has all the attributes to destroy George, huge power, an immensely powerful jab. And tremendous physical strength, Chavulo is not without his assets, but anything he can do, Liston can do much better.

Chuvalo is tailor made for Liston. A TKO wouldnt surprise me here, although George could last and lose by a lopsided decision.

    Liston would ruin Chuvalo.

Either Liston wins by 13th round Kayo, or a lopsided 15 round decision. But Chuvalo will still be on his feet, you can count on it.

Liston should outpoint him but George was solid and went to the body well. This may be a rugged fight for Sonny who uses his jab to get the competitive UD

I have read that this fight was actually being negotiated when Liston died. What a fight it would have been.Chuvalo had the bravest manager in the business.:good

Liston can't put a dent in chuvalo . Plus he is lite on heart . Chuvalo walks him down and knocks him out cold.

Fraizer and Foreman could "put a dent in Chuvalo". and according to the williams fight i wouldn't say he is light on heart either.

I would give Chuvalo a fair chance had they fought in 69 or 70 as was previously mentioned.

Why? Because Sonny was declining or Chuvalo rising?

I am not sure that Chuvalo's peak was in 69-70

In any case my money is on Liston, but Chuvalo manages to finish the figh on his own feet
