Maybe that's not the case, though. Maybe these are well-adjusted, sane men with the sport of boxing as a hobby. You could at least consider it at the off-chance it might be true.

    Nah, probably all nutjobs.

I wonder how much these new trolls are being paid to come in here and keep things stirred up. Their provocative statements and posts are so obvious and transparent.

Right then you realize of all of the people post here I am one of the few people who don't keep pulling **** of of my ass because of what somebody told me.

Liston's best win came against 170 glass chin Floyd Patterson so clearly that means he could beat a 6'3 230 pound fighter right? Sure in the eyes of the dumb ass people who only watch boxing because they like to see dudes without their shirts on.

Rahman beat Lewis and Tua, That alone is better than anybody Liston beat.

Any person who has half a brain which is more than most of you people have would pick Rahman if he came into the fight in shape.

I'm sorry Reign Man, but you're incorrect.

Liston would beat down Rachman just like the Bulls beat down the Sonics in 96.

You're right. You pull it out of your backside of your own accord....

....as this comment proves beyond a shadow of a doubt (you're off by 19 and 24 and a half pounds respectively). You might wanna get your simple facts straight before you start accusing others here of only having "half a brain" and "the mental capacity of children". You aren't exactly proving to be an Ivy League-er yourself.

Get your facts straight before you cast aspersions.

Indirectly, you make an interesting point.

Both these guys were enforcers before their boxing careers.

I think I would want to be on the gang that employed Liston!

Floyd Patterson was a natural 170 pound fighter who bulked up . I didn't ask what he weighed in at the fight. James Toney weighs 250 now so is that his natural weight class dumb dumb?

Sonny Liston is a beast because people on TV tell you he so believe what you want to believe. I told you what is fact. There is not debating facts.

If you believe Liston could beat Rahman because he beat 170 pound fighters then you have less intelligent than a child.

And the Bulls beat down the Sonics? Yeah a 4-2 win when you get all the calls is a beat down. Lol and I could care less about the Sonics losing. I don't play for them or care what happens to them.

You said- and I quote- "Liston's best win came against 170 glass chin Floyd Patterson". So yes, you were stating what he weighed when Sonny beat him.

And no, Floyd was not a "natural" 170 lb fighter. The last time he weighed that he was a skinny, 20 year old kid. When he grew into a fully developed man (no "bulking up", whatever that means), and hit his prime he was well over 170. Look it up.

"Beware of false knowledge, it is more dangerous than ignorance".

    George Bernard Shaw

You have bought into a massive piece of false knowledge, in your belief that a fighters head to head ability roughly correlates to his size and physical characteristics.

This would not even be a particularly reliable method of determining which of two power lifters was stronger, never mind a more complex issue such as which of two boxers would win.

Until you start to question this "false knowledge," you are doomed to be wrong from the ground up.

Rahman was a slow moving, slow thinking moderately skilled hwt. Liston was a borderline all time great. It's a no contest bout...Liston overwhelms him for the ko in 8 rounds....a systematic beat down leading to the ko. Liston did everything better than Rahman by a large margin.

Sonny Liston by TKO somewhere in the mid rounds. Rahman was just too hittable and couldnt avoid Sonny`s jab which sets up the power shots behind it. Liston`s lefthook was just terrorizing.

Tommo....Rahman can't fight a lick. Are you joking? Slow moving slow thinking...a poor fighter really. Not well skilled at all. Liston would tear him apart. I'm not a Liston fan but I can see this a mile away. What skills do you see in Rahman? No defense, slow and slow thinking....an open target.
