In what year did slipping, blocking, parrying, ducking, pivoting and sliding go out date? Watch him enough and you might even see the odd shoulder roll.

    Asking for a friend.

What in the video is outdated, and what are the mistakes he's making?

His handspeed is slow, but the rest of him doesn't actually look that bad in the speed department.

Sonny's monochrome skills don't transfer to our technicolor world. Of the early 60s heavies, only Ali could make the transition to the modern palette.

Anyway, the answer to your question of when ducking went out of style is 1926, when Dempsey forgot to do it.

    It's a lost art.

How was the way all these things were done in the 80's and 90's more advanced? Please explain in plenty of detail so all us simple folk can learn.

he looks almost to be like not sure in his movement and comes forward while ducking and the way he is ducking is not as smooth and looks so basic how can you not see this

Well at least we will have something to go on other than his ducking isn't smooth and his slipping, blocking, parrying, ducking, pivoting and sliding is "out of date". If i didn't hold you in such immense esteem i'd think that is a cop out.

Well, people don't always see the same things. Maybe you can tell me what I'm missing.

For example: Can you give me an example/timestamp from the video of when Liston doesn't look sure of his movement? It's hard because what you're describing sounds more like you're describing his mindset / inner thoughts rather than any observable technique.

I also don't know what you mean by "not as smooth" and "so basic." Like, what would Liston look like if he was more advanced and fluid? What should he be doing differently? What would you tell him to do if you were his boxing coach? Feel free to refer to timestamps.
