    I'd say Liston had to be at least 42. Forget about him having trained seriously .. he was an old man.

    From what I've seen the Census of 1940 showed Sonney was 10. So in 1970 he would have been 40. He looked 40.

    Thats a great question because he swears he turned over every rock for the last 30 yrs or so to uncover the true Liston

    Leotis suffered a detached retina in this fight and never fought again. Martin had fought, beat , and lost to, most of the contemporary fighters of that heavyweight era. Also he was involved in that fatal fight with Sonny Banks 4 years earlier.
