    Liston is all wrong for Baer.

    Probably ends up looking a bit like the Nova fights.

    Liston by clear decision. I wouldn't necessarily be surprised by a late stoppage, but I don't think it'll be one-sided by any means. Baer wins a solid 3-4 rounds

    I don’t believe Listons power could dent maxes chin, however i also don’t believe Baers skills could touch listons...Liston by ud

    Considering how easily Liston destroyed iron-chinned Wayne Bethea (his only KO loss in 50 fights)...
    I think it's very tough fight for Baer.

    The odds favor liston but in any slugfest baer can't be counted out so to speak....liston by decision but I wouldn't doubt a baer ko..

    I think psychology would have been important. Baer was really intimidated by Louis. If Liston had as good a reputation when he fought Baer as he had when he fought Patterson, I think Max would have caved like he did against Joe. Baer was somewhat of a "pretty boy." He valued his good looks. I say the Liston up to the Patterson fights by kayo over the Livermore Larruper. The hungry Baer up to the Schmeling fight would have offered more resistance, but I still think Liston would have won. Max was more lover than fighter.

    Louis couldn't miss Baer's chin with his piston-like jab. Liston's jab was as good as Louis' and it was four inches longer. Liston wouldn't have missed Max's chin either.

    Dempsey would have to chase Baer into the ring again. The people who bet Max would tear there tickets up once they saw that.

    Sonny would have terrified big Max before the fight. He looked petrified against Louis at times, especially once he tasted Joe's power . He was probably the weakest heavyweight champion in history as far as mental fortitude, discipline and ring intelligence go. Liston KO 2.
