Liston of the first Williams fight against Bowe of the first Holyfield fight. Who takes it?

Bowe takes it....Bowe that night was tremendous.

Bowes size, inside game and offensive would get to Sonny. Style wise bad matchup for Sonny

Liston wins it. Bowe leaves himself to open...that’s suicide against Liston. Liston by KO in a shoot out

Saw not enough in that league from Sonny. Bowe by stoppage.

I don't know but I'll lean towards Liston by stoppage, but I can't be so sure about how Liston would do vs a super heavyweight as skilled and powerful as Riddick Bowe.

This. The only thing that doesn't have me pick Bowe outright is the fact that Bowe got hit way more than necessary (including in his otherwise remarkable 1st Holyfield fight). If he takes as many shots as he took against Holy...Liston is just too powerful for that NOT to rock the hell out of Bowe.

The thing is, Bowe was a bigger man with a jab nearly as good. If he can keep Liston away, or draw him in enough to whack him with the uppercut.

Put a gun to my head...Bowe gets floored twice and loses a hard fought UD where the cards have each man winning six rounds, but Liston winning on the knockdowns. In the rematch Holyfield II Bowe gets TKO'd in 7.

But I wouldn't bet my life on Bowe losing, he was too good that night with Holy. Hell, he was even ready to fight Lewis right after the fight.

Bowe with his lack of defense wouldn't last to the final bell against Liston. Liston had better jab and he wouldn't play Bowe's game like Holyfield did. Sonny by late stoppage.

What have you seen from Bowe (outside of Holyfield fights) to believe that he'd beat Liston? Oh, I forgot that size is everything right?

I'm inclined to pick Liston ... but Bowe could use his size pretty effectively too. I think if Liston fights a technical fight he wins.

If Liston can start well and stop Bowe from taking over he should win this
Pretty easily. He’s the better boxer. But if Bowe momentarily gets the upper hand it could be interesting.

Liston by stoppage? Cmon man Bowe has never been stopped and has 5 inches and 40+ pounds to his advantage against Sonny. This the classic forum, not the fantasy forum!

If Bowe and Liston fought a trilogy a Holy1 version of Big Daddy might very well win the first fight but it would probably be a pyrrhic victory. He would take a lot of punishment and it would not bode well for the next two fights especially because based on Bowe's mentality it is unlikely he would be superbly conditioned and prepared going forward. I could see Bowe winning the first fight by decision but getting stopped in the next two.
