Also much more powerful and smarter. With longer reach and better jab. Bowe didn't look that great against Holyfield anyway.

I don't think he was more powerful. He also quit twice. Smarter, maybe, Bowe just wanted to walk his man down.

Bowe was an attrition puncher who usually had clear physical advanatges. I don't see him as more powerful than Liston.

Liston quit against Ali, Bowe was no Ali.

I agree with your last point and that's why I don't think he'd have beaten Liston, who was much better boxer and had better defense.

He wasn't much slower, you need to watch his early fights. Liston had a 44chest, 16.5 inch biceps, 14 inch fists, and an 84 in reach you're talking as though he was a little guy. Bowe had the potential to be an ATG but he didn't have the self discipline to realize it ,and his resume, Holyfield apart, isn't anything to shout about.

That's something people don't get often when we talk about Bowe. He was definitely a talentef fighter, but he didn't prove that much inside the ring.

What did Listion prove? He fought a lot of mediocre opponents and a lot of them were undersized.

Holyfield is was a way better win than Floyd Patterson. Small weak chinned Floyd was made to order for Liston.

Valdes had the same style as Jorge Gonzalez who Bowe demolished.

Exactly what elite SHW did Listin ever beat from the outside.. Waiting on an answer.

When he fought Williams he uses plenty of head movement , but it was all from outside the firing rage. Once inside the firing rage he was being hit plenty by Williams. Getting caught prompted Liston to go on the aggressive where he dispatched of Williams up close.

Liston isn't beating any Bowe from mid range and he isn't beating him inside the wheel house either.

Bowe had one of the greatest skill -sets ever for a big man , both from range and in close. Factor in his size advantage he would be too much for Liston.

Liston cleaned out the division before he got his chance at the title with which Floyd and Ingo were playing pass the parcel with.Had he gotten his shot earlier he may have racked up those wins over Williams ,Harris,Folley,DeJohn,Machen as title defences.
Bowe had enormous potential but he never fulfilled it.
Name all the elite super heavies Bowe beat?

I wouldn’t dismiss the Patterson wins like that. Patterson has a lot of great wins. A better top five then Bowe I’d imagine (Bowe was better I’m not arguing that just trying to give Patterson his due). He also beat Wepner in his last fight as an old man. There’s also video of him sparring Terrell with little difficulty. He was also out of prime for that. Prime Machen and Folley are great wins on the resume as well.

Crude mistake concerning the reach, thnx for mentioning that. I realize that Bowe didn't exactly beat Golota, but he showed a lot of guts getting back in the ring with him, and took a lot of low blows and kept fighting. Liston was a quitter. He gave up against Ali, and he gave up against Machen.

ik, swag already drew my attention to that. Very bad mistake on my part. I naturally assumed that Bowe had longer reach rather than doing the correct thing and checking. It is surprising though, that Liston had longer reach.
