You must have mistaken what I was talking about. No problem. I was talking about Strength. Louis doesn't count because he was gone. Walcott, although advanced in years too, still had something left as far as strength and energy in the first match with Marciano. If that was a Prime Louis in there, overall, going beyond strength and adding style, I would agree with you. But I was talking strictly with strength. This was in regards to dealing with Liston's strength. A bigger fighter's strength that is naturally 200+
Forget Walcott. Walcott was at/near his absolute best when he fought Marciano. Walcott was Heavyweight Champion. He had a lot left. Louis did have a little something left, or else he would have never climbed his way back up to # 2 rated heavyweight contender in the world.
It's too bad frazier's management wouldn't throw Joe in with an old Sonny Liston in the late 1960s. I would have loved to see what would happen. I think Frazier's management was very weary of even an old Liston.
LoL great post man. Probably one of the most enjoyable posts I've read on the classic section. Seems like you had a great system for yourself.
Teddy Atlas is definitely a "Schmitty". Bet against whoever he picked and you'll get it right 90% of the time.
