Ali was light hitting? Who else ko'd Bonavena?
Foreman and Ali are they only to men to stop a prime Lyle.
Marciano was getting beat up in an amateur fight,he resorted to kicking his opponent and was thrown out. Isn't that quitting?

makes no difference. In that era anything over 190 was considered an inconsequential factor at elite level.

Withvey few exceptions, For about 100 years it could be considered a draw back if a guy got much heavier than200lb.

A division of elite HW contenders above 200lb was not achieved until modern advances allowed it.

    959-03-09 192 212 Sterling Davis debut

    Ector County Coliseum, Odessa
    W-TKO
    3/10
    event bout score wiki
    ref: Paavo Ketonen
Davis was a wrestler. The referee stopped it due to bad cuts over both of Davis' eyes. Davis was down three times in the 2nd.

Davis never fought Bivins who was stopped only 5 times.

A division of 200 pound plus elite heavyweights was achieved before 1960?

You're trying to pull the wool over my eyes. Sterling Davis stopped Bivins, Charles, Harold Johnson and Oakland Billy Smith

Nothing to choose between Cockell and Valdes?
Cockell was stopped by Slade172lbs floored 5 times.
Ko'd by one ;left hook to the body by Aaron Wilson12-3-0.
Floored 3 times and stopped by 12lbs lighter Turpin .
Floored 8 times and stopped by Dave Whitlock.
Where are all the comparable ko losses to journeymen on Valdes sheet?

well Valdes was knocked out 5 times from almost 20 losing fights. And he was knocked down on a lot of the losing fights. I like his spirit because he always tried hard but…this guy dropped ball quite a bit. With every physical advantage he managed to lose to light heavyweights like Bob satterfield, Harold Johnson and Archie Moore. That was no disgrace at the time because 200lb elite heavyweights were not yet really a thing. Nino was a forerunner of the kind of heavyweight that might have benefited from the advances of modern sports science. In his own time he was lucky to get past elite light heavyweight’s. Let alone Marciano.

Floyd Patterson had a chance against Rocky.
His speed would bother the Rock. I think Rocky didn't really want Floyd.

I see Marciano losing to Williams. Too big and powerful and speedy. Luckily for Rocky they never fought.
