Sonny Liston vs Rocky Marciano

Machen never used his right hand against Liston. It was injured so he fought Sonny with one hand.

 

Rocky would've been an easy fight for Liston. No man standing in front of Liston could've remained standing. Liston KO in three.

 

I believe the same thing tbh but don't let anyone on this forum see this. I think he'd meet a similar fate against the Ruddock, Brunos, etc.

 

I don't think Marciano's "pit bull", just attack, hit anywhere, even forearms style of fighting would be successful against Liston.

 

Williams fans would agree with you. He was either too injured or too young to ever lose a fight.

Rocky and Williams could have fought. Williams even fought on a Marciano card in an attempt to build up interest. Maybe you should check out what happened?

That's just something you've made up. No one thought the unknown Williams fighting on a Marciano undercard in 1953 was going to "build up interest" in a meeting between them.

 

What was the purpose of it then? Somebody took Williams 1,200 miles from where cleaver usually fought to create some kind of interest. At the carefully matched 30-0-1 point of Williams career I doubt he went up there to get beat.
