nothing wrong in “favouring”as opposed to “guaranteeing”. As I said it would be foolish to guarantee when the guy was never knocked out.

was Walcott under 190lb? . I dont think so. Walcott was 196 and a half pounds. Archie matched Marciano at 188. You are getting far too hung up on weight. It is a mistake. Especially in an era where being heavier than 190 was seen as of no consequence at world level.

The decades where it was possible to create a full division of 200lb plus elite heavyweights wasn’t there yet. So it misleading to make these contrasts before it was achieved.

Again, you can favour these things but you cannot guarantee them. So far as I know The Worlds heavyweight championship has never changed hands over a cut. Seems the referees won’t do it. Recently Fury was badly cut defending the linear title. Nothing happened. So it’s rather inconsequential to pipe on about Rocky losing a title on cuts.

    Edited.
Its reliably documented that the referees in both fights were considering stopping the fights.

I think it’s a tribute to the inconsequential upstart known as Seamus.

    The Fury one?

you are going out on a whim here if you want to guarantee the HW title changing hands on a cut. Seems No referee wants to go down in history as the first guy to stop a champ on cuts.

Ali was light hitting? Who else ko'd Bonavena?
Foreman and Ali are they only to men to stop a prime Lyle.
Marciano was getting beat up in an amateur fight,he resorted to kicking his opponent and was thrown out. Isn't that quitting?

makes no difference. In that era anything over 190 was considered an inconsequential factor at elite level.

Withvey few exceptions, For about 100 years it could be considered a draw back if a guy got much heavier than200lb.

A division of elite HW contenders above 200lb was not achieved until modern advances allowed it.

Davis was a wrestler. The referee stopped it due to bad cuts over both of Davis' eyes. Davis was down three times in the 2nd.

Davis never fought Bivins who was stopped only 5 times.

A division of 200 pound plus elite heavyweights was achieved before 1960?
