Sonny Liston VS Rocky Marciano

And I guess same goes for the guy who fouled the every living crap out of Coc kell in San Francisco.

I do know that Sony even punched DeJohn so hard in the b...s that man went down and said something nasty, isn't that true.

And isnt true that Liston used something on his gloves in at least 2 or 3 fights?

 

And isn't true that Marciano lost to a scrub .500 fighter named Ted?

 

And didnt Sonny Liston lost against LHW contender Leotis Martin and some bum called Marty Marshall?

 

You mean a 40 yr. old Sonny Liston who ended Leotis Martin's career? If Marciano had the stones to fight till 40 he could have faced Liston or Ali. But he was plump on lasagna, cannoli and having feasting on washed up fighters from the 30's.

 

Both of these guys sound really unimpressive. I guess I'll just go back to General now.

I question which side the boxing power structure would take. Would it be Marciano, the hero beloved by all Italians and blue-collar white Americans? Or Liston, the property of the Mafia which controls boxing? If the fight result is manipulated or pre-ordained, then I believe Rocky wins. After all, which fighter do you think would agree to take a dive? I can't see Marciano agreeing to a fix. But Liston? He'd at least listen to the offer.

In an honest fight I choose Liston. He'd have no trouble finding Rocky with his jab, uppercut or left hook. In a legit battle I give Rocky no shot. Marciano was strong but Sonny was stronger. I think Rocky would crumple.

 

Don't even mention his name...he's like haunted robot that somehow appears on this forum.

Again not true, Martin had retina problems before Liston, had he faced Frazier same would happen.

No one forced Liston to fight late, Marciano retired at 33 and Liston was 39 at the time of the fight which is not that big difference.
