Who wins these very entertaining matchups? What happens if Liston catches a flush Shavers bomb? Can Lyle floor Liston like he did Foreman?

Shavers would get bombed out in one. Lyle could be a problem.

    Big problem or little problem?

Could be a big problem based on Lyle's near demolition of Foreman, but Sonny was better than George because his punches were shorter and not telegraphed. But, I must add that even though George threw wide punches that could be seen coming that doesn't mean that he wasn't effective. After all, a Mack truck can be seen as it approaches, getting out of the way is another story!

Shavers might be a bigger problem than Lyle (if he got lucky, little chance with the jab).
Lyle wasn't granite chinned. Unlike Williams, he'd come out cautious, land a few which isn't going to put Sonny out, and taste big bombs somewhat early. Quarry exposed his suspect chin in their s c r a p. Why all the pro-Ron nonsense in his bout with 'brain-dead' Foreman?? He wasn't going to KO George. At the stoppage, I thought Lyle was dead!!
IMO Earnie wouldn't land his "bomb". Perhaps he could knock down Sonny but who did that outside of Ali's suspect punch and Martin when he was old and gone!
In closing, The Bear puts them both on ***** street relatively early.

Great reply, except what you said about no way was Lyle going to ko George. He came real close and another ref might have stopped it after the second knockdown. George was a crumbled heap, on his knees with his face hugging the canvas.

Sonny Liston wins both fights, his jab controls Ernie and Lyle till it's time for them to go. He's just the better fighter

Do you see Lyle doing to Liston what he did to Foreman?

I would expect Sonny to smash his way home here.

    He was a real champion.

Do you see Lyle doing to Foreman before Ali fried George's brain???

I would pick Liston to beat them both. Lyle and Shavers could give anybody a good fight and potentially beat any heavyweight on a given night because of there punching power.

I honestly don't think that he'd ever have just bo guarded Ron Lyle. I just think that the fireworks would have started sooner.

I would think Lyle would rock and stun Sonny Liston at some point.

No. I don't think Sonny left himself as wide open as George did. He wasn't as wild an unlike Foreman he worked behind his jab more consistently. Liston`s jab would soften up Lyle and the follow up would end the show.
