Liston, Ronnie is a bit too wooden for this matchup. A tough chin and a good punch can go a long way, but it wasn't enough for demoralized Foreman and i really don't think it would be enough here.

Liston but it would very tough fight, since Lyle had better chin than Cleveland Williams and could punch with both hands.

I would pick Liston but it would be helluva fight.

Liston. He hit harder than Ron and was a better boxer all round.

    Good fight, with lots fireworks.
But Liston is a hill too high for Lyle to climb.

    Liston by KO.

Agree about Liston. Just plain better at everything.

Liston by KO. I think Lyle would do better than Williams and may land some punches that shake Liston up, but the fearless Lyle goes out on his shield after leaving everything he had in the ring.

Liston wins by KO in the middle rounds, and it’s a slightly tougher fight than against Williams

Ron Lyle has only the advantage of punching power in this matchup. Otherwise, Liston is better in every aspect. Despite being over 2 inches shorter, Liston has a 10-inch reach advantage, so Lyle doesn’t even have the edge in physical attributes..

Can you show us all those guys Lyle knocked out to give him the edge in punching power over Liston?

Liston is notably more skilled with more facets. He'd KO Ron.

Lyle has the edge in power, but not by much. He hurt Foreman twice early in their fight, and Foreman himself admitted that Lyle hit harder than Liston just like Joe Bugner did.
So yeah, his power is real. But Liston was still the better all-around fighter and had the tools to beat him.
