Man come on. Fury isnt even close to the same level of an Ali!!!!
Fury would get crushed by Liston.
And if they fought back in the day where the boxers actually FOUGHT Fury would get DQ for all that holding.

    Fury on points.

Sonny won't be able to catch him- too flat footed, too straight line, and Fury has the better head movement and handspeed.

Liston could struggle against Fury size wise .But I believe Liston could beat him ,probably by clear decision .

While I think Wlad did massive tactical faults when he "chess metched" Fury (who has to be pressured), Liston for me is to crude to win this.
The Fury who fought Wlad was slippery und quick. What he didn´t have in Alis movement, he has in height.

    Fury UD.

    Agreed.

Bad bad style for Sonny. It'd be a totally negative fight plan and Fury would backpedal and shoeshine his way to a lopsided decision. I sure do not think for 1 minute that Liston has the footwork and mobility to get in range. Or if he does use all that energy to try and keep up, he's out of gas by the 4th round. Tyson has the mobility & size to circle away from Sonny's left hand.

What might become interesting would be seeing if Sonny stays to the end. Those frontrunner and on top style fighters do not handle things well when they are way down on the scorecards. That is the style that looks great--when their winning---but goes straight to mediocre or poor. There isn't a gentle slope of ineffectiveness but a plunge of a cliff.

I think that's what we see in this matchup. A plunge off the cliff version of Liston against a guy growing more effective and confident as rounds go by.

He never hit him! that fight should have to be watched as punishment for any crime in the country. I'd rather spend 48 hours in jail as watch that pathetic excuse for a heavyweight fight. There was so much feinting, posturing and avoidance I fell off the couch.

This. Watching that fight was like watching paint dry or watching Driving Miss Daisy. Also, Wlad had been shot for years by 2015.

Perhaps some would like to watch Miss Daisy be driven around.

Fury wouldn't be clowning Liston before or during the fight I can promise you that. Liston K.O's Fury early to mid fairly easily.

Lol he fought like 2. And won 10-2 against one of them and the other was a prime Ali...

Fury isn’t Ali. Although he’s taller and heavier he’s not nearly as fast and his chin isn’t as good. But he has the right style to annoy Liston. This fight is all dependent on Listons ability to cut off the ring. If he affectively can trap Fury it’s Liston all day. If not it’s Fury’s fight. Although I tend to think If someone with zero boxing skills in Wilder could knock him down eventually a much greater technician in Liston would def do better (FYI thought Fury dominated that fight and was robbed).
