But....as champion....he QUIT WHILE SITTING ON HIS STOOL to the light hitting Cassius Clay in Miami in Feb. 1964...and let's not forget the second "fight" with Ali up in Maine in May 1965!!! Sonny could be "out-gutted" in the ring!!!

I'll ask you the same question I asked Louis54. Which oppenent did Liston show a lack of heart against excluding Ali? Don't expect an answer out of either of you tbh

Fury for mine. Wide UD or Liston calls it a day. He would be the bigger stronger guy here, no amount of Liston's fabled strength makes me think otherwise. I think he gets frustrated, leaned on, clowned, and punched into losing one way or another.

We old people saw these greats, you young are impressed by size and power, which only amounts to the bigger they are, the harder they fall. You need to learn some manners if you want others to respect you. You respect me, I will respect you, that is how it works. Your idols cannot measure up to the all time greats of the past. We saw them.

The younger folks do not respect others opinions, the past greats did not act like snivelers when it came to purses for a bout. Next thing you know, you will be pelted with illiterate profanity for expressing your views.

Ya funny right how Fury is now become this god ,,, Seems people forget fast that he was on his back twice in his last fight against Wilder who can't box well .. and now he dominates the same fighter who he pressures because the guy doesn't have a jab or hook … and he his going to do that to Liston who had an ATG of both .. it's laughable how wilder, AJ, and Fury now get matched with every ATG Heavy in the book .. Let's make it more realistic .. How bout Wilder vs Tony Gelento?? Is Galento going to get in past the no jab and land his hook and KHTFO

I've only come into adulthood recently even i realise how laughable this post is it does not take old eyes to see film and realise the gulf in almost every aspect Sonny was great Tyson is not.

Size isn't everything my sparring partner is a cruiserweight for God sake.

It is too early to compare, Sonny Liston was proven, Tyson Fury in time will prove himself, but a great win for him the other night. In my opinion, not yours, size is not everything, Mike Tyson did not have size, but he was an all time great. But everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I remember how once Deontay was a God because he likes to thrash 50 year old fighters from the nursing homes, or we cannot forget this one, Andy Ruiz vs all time greats based on one victory over Anthony Joshua, but after the rematch, no more comparisons. They get impressed too easy.

Tyson Fury would win with a hand in back. I see that this forum is still nostalgic like hell. Tyson is better in every department except MAYBE hitting power. Prime Liston was a 6'0 1/2. 209 pounds guy. Basically a cruiser today.
