Fury is bigger and better than Liston. Both things

Only time will tell, my opinion. Today's fighters appear not to be in shape, bad for the heart, too much weight, just my opinion. I respect yours, I ask the same.

He normally does just enough because of his opponent's skill level or age. Fury has been too close on score cards and hurt by far lesser men to suggest he can do just enough and last with Sonny Liston.

No Fury would not last until the end because probably liston would get frustrated and stopped before of the limit

Fury. I picked points, but could see a knockout just as well. It's not a good styles matchup for Sonny at all.

People also routinely sell Tyson short by judging his ceiling by his floor. Yeah, he coasts sometimes, but he elevates his game when it counts.

Also, I struggle to think anything as simplistic as stalking Fury with a jab will work. Especially with Sonny's foot speed.

Ask Wlad how well a fantastic textbook jab worked out for him against Tyson and his angles.

Sonny's great at what he does, but a straight line bully giving up size, speed, and agility isn't going to get the job done on Fury.

It's not just the size thing, although it's a factor.

What fights apart from the first Wilder fight & the first John McDermott (his 8th fight) has he been too close on the scorecards.

Fury has raised his game in his biggest fights. Liston on the other hand failed to in his 2 biggest fights, although admittedly he completely trumped Patterson in his 3rd and 4th biggest fight, and he’s actually been stopped, not just hurt by a lesser man than Fury (all be it way past his prime)

The Cunningham fight was close on the cards with Fury. Cunningham was a blown up cruiser weight, past his best and on a losing streak. He floored Fury, and was nothing close to a puncher.

Tyson Fury 254 lbs beat Steve Cunningham 210 lbs by KO at 2:55 in round 7 of 12
• Date: 2013-04-20
• Location: Madison Square Garden Theater, New York, New York, USA
• Referee: Eddie Cotton
• Judge: Glenn Feldman 56-56
• Judge: John Poturaj 55-57

• Ring Announcer: Michael Buffer
• Aired On: NBC (Main Event)
Notes
• Tyson Fury 20-0 (14 KOs) vs. Steve Cunningham 25-5 (12 KOs)
• Fury entered as the # 9 heavyweight contender in the world according to The Ring Magazine. Cunningham, a 5.1-to-1 betting underdog, was unranked by the same publication. [1] [2]
• The fight was an eliminator for the #2 spot for a shot at Wladimir Klitschko's IBF Heavyweight Title .
• It was the United States debut for Tyson Fury.
• At 6'9, 254 pounds, Fury was the heaviest and tallest opponent of Cunningham's career to date.
• Cunningham entered with a record of 1-3 in his previous four bouts. In his most-recent fight, four months prior, he lost via split decision to Tomasz Adamek (47-2).
• A looping right hand sent Fury down in Round 2. Cunningham was knocked out in Round 7 from a right hand.

The Wallin fight was close enough. 116-112 on one card.

Fury drops rounds to lesser men. He isn't a master boxer.

The thing is that if you need the worst Fury to show up in order to pick Sonny, you're subconsciously saying Sonny can't handle the best one.

Beating Wlad on points on the road is a better top end win than anything Sonny's done. That was the fight that told me what I needed to know about how Liston might do, because he rendered a fantastic textbook jabber (with better physical tools than Sonny) absolutely useless.

Liston's too one dimensional and limited to cope with the best Fury.
