Termite as usual is spouting forth a load of nonsense to big up his boyfriend Vitali Quitschko.

he was freaking undisputed world hw champion of the qworld, something neither K bro has ever been.

What more do you need to prove he was massively dangerous at that time other than being undisputed hw champion of the world by instant double kos?

If the WBO, IBF, WBC, and WBA were all around in the 1960's, Liston would not be undisputed.

Times have changed. Ring Magazine said Vitali was the champion, and every other rating group ( box rec, fight news ) said the same thing.

How many title defense did Liston have? Just one. Vitali rates well in terms of total title defenses

Listons won his title from Floyd Patterson, one of the main reasons he only has one defence is because he had to defend it against a certain Cassius Clay.

Vitali won his WBO strap off Herbie Hide and defended it against Ed Mahone and Obed Sullivan.

Right, Liston beat a scared rabbit under 200 pounds with the worst possible style to face him to win his title.

Did Liston even beat a top ten opponent post Ali? Herbie Hide would be Liston's best opponent post Ali.

I find Liston's resume a bit thin. He fought smaller guys, and some guys who were known for having average to bad chins.

You could say the same for Vitali.

Patterson was a higher calibre of fighter than Hide.

Not only did Liston cause Patterson to **** bricks, but he also beat him in the first round (twice).

Vitali took 2 rounds to get rid of a c level fighter in Hide and according to some, Hide may have won the first round.

Simply tell me who Liston beat post-Ali that was in the top ten? I've asked twice

Yes, Patterson was good for his time, but would be too small and too fragile to be the #1 guy decades in the future.

Hide was not a c level fighter! He Ko's Tony Tucker and Mike Bentt. Bowe said Hide hit him the hardest Bowe took out Hide in 6, Vitali in 2.

    Do the math!

tucker in 1997? how old was he then? good luck with that as a valid argument.

hide was simply lucky that when he peaked, a new boxing organisation was trying to flog its HW title, that's why he won it. without that he'd never have won a hw title, and he could barely hold onto it as it was. The guy was quick, could hit fairly hard but importantly was terribly chinachinnned and always lacked a plan B.

You are comparing this fair but limited guy with the undisputed hw champion of the world and youngest winner of it in Patterson, and one of the most fearsome undisputed HW champions in liston.

liston was blackballed and unable to get a title shot after ali, its small wonder he was unable to land the opposition needed to get that.

    how do you know?

    you don't.
The actual evidence is that Liston was undisputed world champion. we have to go with that evidence, not with some concoction.

no one would have title defences if the next guy they fought was muhammad ali. Your argument is crud beyond belief, I cannot for a moment believe you don't know how fail it is, you aren't that stupid surely..

obviously in the 90s its much easie rto nick a meaningless wbo title and make some defences - Ali if around in the 90s would barely bother trying to capture it, I'd be surprised if he'd even know what wbo was until it had been a round for a while.

You dont have time to unify all the titles if you lose the title in your second title defense

If Liston’s resume is a bit thin, we are going to have to invent a new superlative to describe Vitally’s!

If the previous champion unified the titles you need not do so yourself.

Patterson was the one who began the new claim and his claim was disputed by no one.
