Wlad higher in legacy 18 title defenses 10 year reign barely losing a round.

H2h more debatable but for me Wlad drills him. Sonny looked small vs Ali - Wlad would of dwarfed him

 

Wlad on legacy and H2H. It makes me laugh when people think someone as small and slow as Liston stands a chance against someone as big and fast a Wlad.

 

Makes me laugh to! Could you imagine the even smaller Brewster beating Wladimir? Now their's a laugh!

Brewster had 16-20lbs on Liston, was faster and taller. Not the best version of Wlad either, I can cherry pick the Marshall and Martin losses for Liston too

I disagree,had he gotten his shot earlier he would have Folley, Harris ,Williams,Machen,and probably Ingo as title defences.

C- simply you was boring


H2h is a debate(i pick sonny by ko) but legacy? No debate

 

Mcvey cmon... Both? The career of Wladimir is clearly better with a lot more defences in a super hw era. Wladimir klitschko would smash every single rival of Liston in one sided fashion and he would have done much better against Clay in 1964 too even if i pick Ali

 

This falls in line directly with my last post, which is that you need to give Liston credit for a "what if" title reign that didn't actually happen to make a case for him having better accomplishments.

Whether or not those names as defenses would be enough is another thing entirely, as Wlad would still have had triple the title defenses even if you goose up Sonny's numbers with the fantasy defenses you listed.

 

Resume should be pretty obv. --> Wlad might be inside the top 10, Listons accomplishments are arguably below Riddick Bowe, who got 2 near prime ATG wins.

H2H? Both had an weight advantage fighting their opponents. Wlad fought two weightclasses above Sonny (SHW vs CW). Wlad could get hit on the chin, while there is no data for Listons chin fighting modern HW punchers. Logic tells you Wlad should be favoured, but I don´t like him against guys who could punch. But the lack of big athletes on Listons resume makes his KO-power suspect. So another advantage here
--> H2H goes to Wlad imho.
