Sonny Liston, Would He Have Kod 1992 Holyfield??

I always tend to underestimate Liston when I haven't watched him in action in a while, but he was a much nastier finisher than Bowe, Bowe was going for knockouts, Liston was trying to kill, Evan Fields might be able to survive into some deeper water but any smaller version of him gets slaughtered not entirely unlike Patterson

 

Williams was likely taller than the 6'3" height listed for him. He certainly didn't look 3 inches shorter than the 6'6" Terrell who he didn't do to shabby against.

Fair enough.

Billy Daniels wasn't an ATG, but he was a good fringe contender who had good and bad nights. Going into the first Williams bout, he was undefeated barring a loss to the GOAT via cuts, where he gave a good performance hardly anything to be ashamed of.

Many think Doug Jones was lucky to get a decision against Billy Daniels the first go around, and Daniels upset him in the rematch despite being a last second substitute going into the Williams rematch.

He took a severe beating in that bout, and was never quite the same fighter.

Also are we going to act like Bowe knocked everyone out? A past it Tubbs gave him all he could handle and then some, not only going the distance, but many felt he should've won. Tubbs was knocked out two fights after in the first round by Lionel ****ing Butler. Hell a prime Tubbs was stopped in the second by Tyson.

I have no idea how Williams-Patterson would've went. Patterson is my third favorite fighter, but gun to my head I think Williams would knock him out.

Those lesser fighters weren't coming forward at Williams, they boxed him and attempted to keep their distance. Patterson's style was Williams' bread and butter. I've never thought Patterson was as chinny as people make him out to be, but he's going to have to take some hard shots imho. Not sure if he's able to remain upright like Liston. He's certainly not stopping him in 3 and 2 rounds ala Liston.

It's funny how you insist Liston never proved himself against modern heavies, so their's no telling how he'd do even against second rate ones, but Bowe gets a pass for never proving himself against punchers (when he had literally countless opportunities to do so unlike Liston facing modern heavies) and he's automatically going to walk through Williams as easy as that.

Like I said, I think Bowe wins as well. But not nearly as easily as you think he would. He NEVER proved himself against punchers, and his management team certainly didn't want to see how he'd fair against them.

He does not have Liston's power, skillset, ability to fight on the outside, ring IQ, or even defense so he will undoubtedly have a much much harder time against Williams.

Please spare me this "levels lolz" crap to justify your reasoning for picking Bowe over Williams. Two words: Andrew Golota.
