Well Malignaggi is quite well known in America, and Maidana is not, that would be the most obvious reason Khan would fight Malignaggi in his first fight abroad.

After 3 rounds Maidana will know he's in the ring with someone who is superior to him in almost every department and will get desperate and get stopped , i truly beleive that Maidana will not see out 8 rounds against Khan .................

The obvious reason being that Golden Boy promote both Khan and Maidana and don't want to set up a fight at a point where one of their up and comers is guaranteed to suffer a setback that will greatly hurt their future earning power in GBP's market?

Ill go with this, as its about exposure atm for Khan but it can be risky gettin everything handed on a plate for you as Khans backlash suggests.

I cant wait till Khan fights Maidana.

This guy has got the power to knock anyone out cold at 140 not just Khan, but he has so many holes in his game its unreal.

    Open defence
Looping hooks which you can read/see a mile off
    No jab
    Not a good chin

Khan would KO this guy inside 5 rounds, Maidana is too hittable, Khan would have a field day with him and box his head off.

All Maidana has is a drunk punchers chance to land a flush shot, thats now becoming harder and harder as Khan has improved alot under Roach.

Exactly this, well said. Add ortiz to the equation (Khan or Maidana rematch) you've got 3 140lb GB fighters who they'll wanna build up/get titles (keep in Khans case) and own the division before pitting em together in lucrative fights. Personally I like Bob Arums approach eg. Duddy v Chavez Jr wittle down the weaker fighters and put your money behind 1.

I think Khan suffers a few heart in mouth moments in the first 3 rounds before settling down behind his jab and boxes Marcos' head off. Stops him between 8-10 as mentioned Maidanas not got a granite chin.

Bored of hearing the Khans chinny malarky. Look at the work Alex Ariza has done on Khans body configuration. Hes so well in proportion now, his legs are so much bigger his arms dont look like tree-trunks he's very well built for speed and yet his punch-resistance will be improved. He used to have a super-middleweights top half dropped onto chicken legs a sure fire way of being ko'd. Not any more

This is exactly the point that everyone who is clamouring for this fight seems to miss. Khans chin in this match-up is a completely moot point, if he lands big on anyone at 140 they are going down, its just that with the more skilled fighters he isn't going to land and he doesn't have a plan B.

Kotelnik outboxed him for **** sake, thats all we need to know about Maidana.

When has Khan been put on his arse by a man with a 10% KO ratio? Do your own research before making assertions that you can't back up. He was also dropped twice in the Ortiz fight by absolute nothing shots.

Actually three times Maidana was down in the Ortiz fight.

The same Ortiz who whaled away for ten rounds without being able to legitimately put down a shot lightweight who got knocked out by Robbie Peden :good
