Ok i didn't believe he could take Miranda out like that. In fact, i just tought he was another overhyped european bum that was gonna get exposed once he got out of Germany. But he proved me wrong in brutal fashion by coming to his opponent's backyard and knocking him out at the weight that suited best the opponent. So for all that, much props Arthur.
spot on mate:good. i hardly seen abraham fight before but i was amazed. At first i though here comes sven ottke II, but i guess this guy is the real deal and even after he KO'd one of ma favourite fighters, i am proud to say im a new fan. he's humble and respectful guy. also in there first match he fought 8 rounds with a broken jaw, against one of the hardest puncher in the division, nuff respect and great display of heart:good:good
Well done Arthur. My only disappointment was the German interpreter...Vivien(?)...I was hoping for someone like Marlene Dietrich or that current German supermodel, I can't remember her name.
Nice! But forget the 'European bum' categorization and the word 'exposed' already! Just because they fight outside of your boxing market doesn't mean they are bums. There are 'bums' and protected fighters both in your market and other markets, and Abraham, who stepped up to the plate bigtime in his US debut, now officially KO'd the term 'European bum' (hopefully for good). Let that be a lesson. Judhe a fighter upon his performances no matter where they fight.
Absolutely agree! its an unfair and inaccurate characterisation. Domestic level bum might be a better term and as you say, they are in every market.
I was actually getting ready to make a thread similar to this. I'm not crazy about Abraham, but I damn sure respect him, and he deserves a lot of credit for what he done last night. So much is made of Euro fighters never leaving their own comfort zone, and the favorable treatment they receive overseas. Then when a fighter actually comes to the States, with nearly ever conceivable odd against him, and wins in convincing fashion, it seems like the very same fans who were so critical to begin with, don't have much to say after the tables have been turned.
