Not a fan of either guy, but he unquestionably has a better resume than Calzaghe.

    I agree not only that,,,

I will say facing Pascal, Taylor,Kessler, Dirrell, Abraham all close to their prime consecutively surpasses anything any active fighter has done.....

    (excluding PAC).......

For me Froch is a P4P top 10....FFS RING has fernando Montiel, and Celestine cabellero....Froch is way more deserving......but i do pick WARD to beat him....as SHOWTIME WILL MAKE SURE WARD FIGHTS IN OAKLAND!!!

    Thats ridiculous.

Calzaghe fought the best, he travelled round the world to fight best in their own back yard and didn't fight any bums.

He also didn't fight anyone who was way past their prime.

Froch has fought bums and has ducked anyone half decent.

Depends on what Pascal, AA and Dirrell do with the rest of their careers doesn't it?

I mean Dirrell's been shown to be a weak minded ***** and Froch had a close fight with him. Abraham's been dominated 2 fights back to back and probably doesn't belong at SMW. Kessler beat him although both men weren't 100% (I scored a Froch win btw), and Taylor as shown by his poor performance against AA was clearly past prime and on his way out.

If Froch wins the S6 then he has an argument.

I'd say so, but in your opinion does Froch beat Calzaghe if they fought?

i think he does have the better resume but dont think he would have beat calzaghe. calzaghe would have won through work rate alone

probably not, but if froch could get calzaghe on the back foot hed have a chance, he could take the punches, and his mentality is second to none.

Well of course. After Calzaghe put SMW in the map, most of the newly informed boxing fans would know about the names of the contenders in the division. It's much easier to get names on your resume at that point.

    Well let's see...

Froch schooled Abraham, who has never won against against any prime SMW contender and climbed from MW.
Froch had a very close fight where he lost with a Kessler that isn't anywhere near the master technician that he was when Calzaghe met him due to ocular problems.
Froch beat Dirrell in a negative fight where some say Dirrell beat him. (I don't, Dirrell didn't do enough)
Froch defeated a Taylor that was already destroyed by Pavlik and he had a tough fight in that outing as well.

The best scalp on Froch's resume is Pascal, who went on to become LHW champ and beat Dawson convincingly albeit some rocky championship rounds. The quality of that win might be tested if Hopkins manages to make Pascal look really bad or even upset the champion in that fight at his far more advanced age however.

So it really comes down to what happens in the future. If Froch wins the Super Six, then he will indeed have more familiar names on his resume compared to Calzaghe.

Still, like others have said, I have no way to believe that he ever beats Calzaghe.
