Froch is yet to defeat a reigning champion.

Arthur Abraham was Froch's first prime fighter and Richie Woodhall would have beaten him.

Twice in two fights Abraham perfomed the same way...he's going the same way as Jeff Lacy.

Calzaghe beat B-Hop and Kessler and was champion for 10 years. He also was ring champion in both SWM and LHW.

Froch has not done as much, but I am all for him getting a more respect from the fans.

    No.
    Calzaghes resume consists of
    Eubank
    Reid
    Woodhall
    Mitchell
    Brewer
    Hopkins
    Jones
    Lacy
    Kessler
    Veit
    Mkertchyan
    Starie
    Manfredo
    Bika

Fighters like Mkertchyan and Veit have achieved more at SMW than Dirrell or Abraham,

this is a good question. i think they're pretty close. a big part of being a great fighter is who you beat and when you beat them. calzaghe was a good fighter but his resume at 168 can be surpassed with just a couple of good victories. it's pretty pathetic that joe will get the hof imo.

it's not good when you have to argue that mkrtchyan, veit and manfredo are some of joe's best wins.

  12. Of course not. Calzaghe was world super middleweight champion and lightheavyweight champion. He made 21 defences of the WBO title. He retired undefeated with a record of 46-0. And, by the way, Calazaghe beat Kessler (soundly), Froch did not.
Froch was excellent against Abraham, but let's face it, Abraham is a one-paced, one dimensional fighter who happens to throw the occasional big punch.
I'm sure after Froch fights Ward there will be another spate of threads declaring him (wrongly) to be an over-hyped bum.

    Kessler Abraham
    Hopkins Kessler
    Lacy vs Dirrell
    Eubank Pascal
    Reid Taylor

Kessler and Reid are common opponents and if Pascal beats Hopkins even at his advanced age would really elevate Pascal even more and make his scalp even better for Froch.

I think if you look in depth as Calzaghe has had many more fights and compare it to Froch's then you have to give Froch credit for catching up to Calzaghes achievements in less than 28 fights.

Brewer, Woodhall, Bika, Mitchell and a shot to pieces RJJ are much better than the filler in Froch's record but as I stated Froch has had far less time and fights than Joe.

Calzaghe is the much better boxer though and would have and probably still would box Froch's ears off.

Bit of a difference about where Reid was in his career when Calzaghe and Froch fought him though
