GGG doesn't have a resume that comes close to Carl's, but, considering Carl chose retirement over a fight with GGG, perhaps Carl isn't the best example to compare resumes with.

Anyone at 160 can get it, did you forget that tidbit with Quillin and Jacobs? They will only fight GGG on Showtime-HBO joint PPV :rofl:rofl

Of course! Cotto and Canelo are Welterweights.
So why isn't Golovkin as aggressive in calling out Quillin and Lee as he is with Froch and Mayweather? :smoke

I seriously doubt that Golovkin had any impact on Froch's decision to retire. In fact, I believe the revenue from 80,000 fans had much more to do with his decision. :yep

That would be the case if Froch wasn't so eager to face Chavez Jr.

And if Canelo who's naturally heavier than Golovkin is a welterweight, then what is Pacquaio? Does that mean Mayweather's career defining win is over a strawweight?

It's outstanding, and the OP didn't even touch on Bute or Groves. Consider that he only ever lost to top SMWs Ward and Kessler, and that many considered him unfortunate to have not gotten the nod vs Kessler in Denmark. Froch also defeated Robin Reid who was considered unfortunate to have lost to both Joe Calzaghe and Sven Ottke. Also beat underrated Magee. He defeated AA, giving him his 1st clear in-ring loss, who many thought was on his way to a stoppage win vs Andre Dirrell.

Lara would add credibility at MW? He was all set to fight Lee already when his father passed, no?

It's pretty clear Quillin wants no part. Maybe after Jacobs, should he win.

They are already talking to Lee, and Quillin keeps hiding behind papa Haymon.

Not so difficult to believe that Chavez has a much larger name and following than Golovkin.
Chavez's resume makes GiGi's look like tripe soup. :yep

Lara is better than Lemuiex and Monroe. Yes, a win over Lara enhances his resume the same as it does for Canelo.

His father passed a long time ago. So what happened to making the fight happen and why is he making more noise about Mayweather and Froch?

    You know why. It's because he's a K2 fighter.
Imagine if Kovalev was managed by K2, a promotion company comprised of mediocre fighters.
If Kovalev was with K2 he would have never fought Hopkins or Pascal. But he's not and those two fights are what sets Kovalev above Golovkin in status.:yep
