I can understand some people getting irritated by the hype because some of it is way over the top. Only by a few people but I can imagine it is annoying if you're not a fan of Golovkin.

Golovkin looks head and shoulders above any other middleweight and he gets abuse for it

If he was going life and death with these fighters but still winning he would be called "lucky" and "beatable" but he isn't he is blowing them away so he is now a "bum" and a "hype job".

I personally do not understand that logic.

Ward's name is mentioned, that can be forgotten because he is now a light heavyweight, Ward wants a year to muster enough courage to fight Kovalev

So anyway even if Golovkin moves to 168 who is there to fight? Badu Jack? AA? DeGale?

And we would get the same old thing, "Jack was knocked out in a round....", "Abraham is past it, Smith dragged him 24 rounds" and "Groves beats DeGale".

Golovkin will never win over these types of people regardless of what he does, thy have made their minds up and will stick to it so we should just carry on being entertained by a fighter who knocks people out, is willing to fight the other champions and is very technically gifted.

 

There is no top opposition beside boxers Gennady already smashed and cowards hiding from him. Lee may be one exception, and they will definitely fight if Lee beats Saunders.

The one thing I would add is that it will reach the point that if GGG cannot get any of the MWs into the ring that he will need to move up. He has some time to let it shake out, but it comes with risk. If he stays at MW, and does not land any of the other top 2 or 3 guys, his legacy will suffer, his fault or not.

 

I don't think Golovkin's division is amazing or anything like that but it's made to look worse than it is because of how dominant he has been. Rather than give credit to him for beating up top middleweights in such a dominating fashion, take it all away by claiming anything he'll do in the division doesn't matter as it's all weak anyway!

There are some on here who give every Golovkin opponent a huge build up before the fight, make threads about how Golovkin will get beaten up and "exposed" and then you never hear from them again until the next opponent has been named and they do the same all over again.

You're right, the best they can do now is try to devalue the division then it takes away from any of Golovkins achievements because they know Golovkin is so far above what is there.
