Speed, Timing and Accuracy are all more important than power in my opinion. Thats something I need to work on, I have a good deal of power in my right arm but not as much in left.(My right bicep is quite big but I barely have any muscle on my left, I need to start lifting weights with my left arm or stop wanking as much lol).

I can land my left often enough and when I throw a snapping punch with my right I can land it too but I have a tendency to load up with my right every time I throw it and It either gets blocked or countered, So I really need to work on that.

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

But seriously. If you're asking this question you haven't fought yet. Just saying. And if the coach is having to say that to you, it means you're relying on power at the expense of the rest of your game.

Someday you'll run into a guy who you can't knock out and who won't get discouraged by your he-man punches. He'll tear you apart and make you look like a ******ed ogre.

You can construct a style that takes advantage of your power, but you do need to work on every other aspect of your game: footwork to set up the big shot, defense/counters to walk your opponent into something bad, speed so that you can actually land these powershots, and just all around boxing ability.

Mike Tyson is a quintessential power fighter, but he was also extraordinarily fast and had good defense and footwork and strategy. You sound more like a Kimbo Slice.

Kimbo Slice?LOL.No,I have had 10 amateaur fights from 2006 to 2008,and plan on coming back next year. And yes I have fought at lightheavyweight and cursierweight(called heavyweight in the ametuears).Cant see why thats so hard to beleive.I do listen to my trainer.I just feel sometimes that having started at a late age(22)that I am at a huge disadvantage in terms of expereince.Yet I usually have a power advantage(even against more expereinced fighters)so I just figured I should work on this advage as much as possible.Balance, form, cordination, technique are the keys,I know.I was expressing myself.I cant see how this thread can be viwed as "trolling"or "giving myself a blowjob".Nor do I need to "brag" about my punching power to pepole who have never seen any of my fights or seen me spar in a boxing gym.I just wanted advice from folks who know, thats all.

We judge by avatars :rofl . On a serious note, this is the internet my friend and one thing you never do it praise yourself. The impression we all got is that your pissed at your coach and you think your better than him so you started goin solo. OT, They are right when they say don't worry about power. Get speed and technique and power comes in with the whole package
