cotto was battered....his body gave up.......

marquez QUIT because the going got tough before a real beating occurred. thats a quitter.

Jeff Lacy was getting WAXED by Calzaghe and beat up toward the end and could have quit.....same with roy jones last night....they had no realistic way of winning after 8 or 9 rounds unless they landed a bomb....but they tried for 12 rounds. Marquez quit...he didnt try anymore....thats a quitter. hopefully he doesnt fight again , his heart isnt in it anymore

Cotto QUIT because the going got tough too. He was getting beat, and QUIT before getting KTFO. He took a knee, and signaled to his corner to stop the fight.

I don't know if you're unbiased or if you're actually a Puerto Rican, but both Cotto and Marquez QUIT. Its a fact for the history books.

A tune-up  Every fight he has is a tune-up:lol:
Whether that's because he's so good or his opponents are so weak I leave open.

Hope one of these two fights will happen!

when an opponent is a mandatory challenger, you can't really call it a tune-up, even if he's not up to par. its not like you choose your mandatory challengers.

I mean his mandatory was supposed to be Lorenzo, but Marquez earned his spot by causing the upset.

point being..... if you are gonna quit....have a ****ing REASON to do it......

cotto took a beating!! bloody and battered swollen for 11 rounds

marquez had a cut and quit, saying he didnt want to get hurt, blah blah...

marquez had half the fight left...cotto had another round and the ref prob would have stopped it anyway
night and day and you cannot compare the 2. :deal

Yeap, and look what happened to Jeff lacy after NOT quitting?! Also, do you really think that in those 6 rounds Marquez didn't get enough punishment? Just watch the fight again and count how many times his head snapped back (almost every time AA connects, and that was often!)..and that's not counting the body shots. Marquez took a beating and decided it was not worth to take even more. I'd rather be 11 rounds in the ring with Margarito, who has solid power, but is more of an accumulation puncher, than 6 rounds with AA who could send you 6' under the earth with each shot.

then dont be a boxer if youre gonna quit after 6 rounds. boxing is a tough sport, and by the way, marquez did not take a beating...he took some good shots....a beating is what calzaghe did to lacy and what maro did to cotto.
and dont make out AA like he is some kind of ivan drago at middleweight...yeah hes got power.....but dont give me this 6 feet under death punches...youre obviously a nuthugger of his

I'm a big fan of AA and I'm of course biased, but just ask all of his opponents. His punching power is definitely something very special - or how come that all of his opponents showed lots of respect after they got hit by the Abrahammers? His punching power alone always gives him a chance against almost everybody. In addition he has a tight defense, a granite chin and an iron will. That's more than most of the other guys have...
