Sticks and stones boyo. You were proved wrong by concrete evidence from a legend, no way out despite your insults. Get over it, move on :smoke

FYI, I was not using the SRL quote to show SRL thought Joe was ducking anyone, you still don't understand. You dismissed my list of people Calzaghe COULD have called out, insulted me, and named two people particularly as 'preposterous'. I used a quote from a big Calzaghe FAN and immortal boxing LEGEND to show that he shared my PREPOSTEROUS opinion that fights with those 2 guys were possible and would have been good fights for Joe, both for his resume and to prove himself in the USA. If I had dismissed your opinion as preposterous and you had posted a quote from Marvin Hagler or Pernell Whitaker showing that he had the same opinion, I would be a bit embarrassed at being so high-handed and superior and dismissive in the first place, as obviously those guys have forgotten more than I could ever know about boxing and whether I agree or not, their opinions should be respected. But based on your conduct on this thread, I don't expect yot to exhibit any maturity now. Take it as a lesson learned.

    injin chi

well they're all fighters in and around the the weights that manny pac fought at in the last 6 or 7 years and i have it on good authority from sugar ray leonard that manny did not call them out.

I can't believe you are comparing Joe Calzaghe's resume to Manny Pacquiao's. Pacquiao goes searching for challenges. 7 fights against the 3 great Mexicans. Huge fights looming at lightweight or higher. And he has only been at the top for 5 years, Joe has done far less in 11. This must be a joke. The names I suggested for Calzaghe would have without doubt improved his resume. How would any of those names have improved Pacquiao's?? And some of them don't even make sense anyway.

Paulie Ayala? Lost to Morales and stopped by Barrera. How would that have improved Pac's resume?

Naseem Hamed? In April 2001 he effectively retired from world level boxing when he was comprehensively outboxed by Barrera for the featherweight world title. At this time, Pac was fighting in the Philippines for the WBC International super-bantamweight title. HOW would he have had the money or profile to get a fight with Hamed before Barrera? Because after Barrera, Hamed only had 1 fight, v a little known European for the IBO featherweight title, then never wanted to fight again.

Johnny Tapia - lost to Paulie Ayala twice, and lost to Barrera in 2002. Pac got his big break v Barrera in 2003 and wiped him out. Why would he then go looking for a fight with Tapia?

    tim austin
    mark johnson
    chris john
    injin chi
    jesus chavez

And those 5 names would NOT have improved his resume one bit if he had fought them instead of the guys he did fight. It would have made it weaker in fact. If Calzaghe had fought any of the guys I listed between 1997 and 2006, it would have improved his resume, says me and SRL.

Give up seriously, your desperate reaching is becoming quite painful to read.

i would class your last post junior as taking the bait big time in fact hook line and sinker, and you even started to dissect my list oh that's priceless! can you not see the irony? i am beginning to warm to you i even like you, however i do have a life outside of a computer keyboard so i must go.
oh by the way, when did i ever compare manny's resume with calzaghe's? i'm not even a big fan of calzaghe, and i love manny.if you check one of my earlier replies to you i stated that manny is undoubtedly the pound for pound number 1. ah..these huggers!:hi:

Priceless? I dissected it like a clinical master surgeon. Flawless more like! At least we seem to agree that Pac has a strong resume unlike Joe. I'm satisfied. I'm sure we will speak again :thumbsup

Yeah, now that Jeff's a no-one and Kessler appears to be going off into obscurity, Calzaghe's resume looks very weak.

Hopkins was in his mid-forties... So please! If you went by all the Cal huggers before the fight, that fight was supposed to be an annihilation. It turned out to be sloppy. Old-man Hops showed Cal up in that fight, despite losing a very close one.

Eubank took the fight on 2 weeks notice, and was clearly faded.

So - I got nothing but a WBO belt for ten years... A decent-ish last 2 years, but now that Lacy (and maybe Kessler) aren't achieving anything - I got nothing.

Pity you weren`t on the board before the Calzaghe fight to tell the hoards here who were adamant that he WAS that good.90% of the board didn`t know that then but 90% now claim they ALWAYS knew!! :D

So that makes Jeff better? Or something...

Nearly 50% thought that Tyson was going to be able to KO Lennox in 2001 (or 02).

Does that mean Lennox's win should be considered great? Or should most people take into account that Tyson was a shot, fat, and a near bum by this stage?

It means there there`s a huge amount of xenophobia on the board, usually eminating from posters a certain nationality. The biggest wise after the event shower if ever there was one.

So should Lennox Lewis' win over Tyson be considered a great one?

Man for all the crap Calzaghe gets there are a million excuses as to why he won the fights he won !! This is why today's fan can never be taken serious !!

Lacy is no good before the fight he was heir to the 168 lb thrown !!

Kessler is a bumb because Calzaghe beat him but going into the fight how many people thought Kessler would win ?

Hopkins 's age is always brought what else is new if Hopkins had won no one would ***** but since Hopkins lost he exposed Joe :huh That right there is confusing as **** !

Eubank took the figt on 2 weeks notice and was clearly faded :patsch Why take the fight if he felt he wasn't prepared ? Joe wasn't the accomplished fighter he is now ?

The hate just runs through todays' bloging internet ingrate boxing fans !!How annoying !! I bet no mattter who loses in tonights fight some genius who claims to be an expert on a mssg bord will come up with " Such in Such " was Exposed !!

Why watch the sport of Warriors when you can never fuly respect the warriors in the ring before and after ??
