Without fans, sponsorship has no place. Why would "outside sponsorship" bother? Where does their money come from?

Granted, i am a bit jaded but boxing fans, and more importantly, BOXERS need to know where the money really comes from.

    Ultimately, we pay them.

We do, but do you most fights could work with just the gate takings?

"Outside sponsorship" comes from the companys themselves, resulting in their name being plastered on trunks/ the ring/ corner posts etc.

After helping out on a local scale its easy to see even at that level how valued those dollars are at the end of the day.

I'm aware of that. My main problem is with promoters etc, that have convinced fans and fighters alike, that THEY are the ones paying the money.

We've come to accept these bull**** contract negotiations, and demands, and bull**** for fights falling apart.

It's like Stockholm Sydrome. How many times do you hear "At least xxx makes the big fights happen"
The big fights, and any fight, should happen anyway.
Promoters don't make fights happen. they stop them from happening.

My issue is not with sponsorship. Never was.
My point is, without FANS, there is no money in boxing.
And providing what the fans want to see is going to provide more money to, as you mentioned the "local level", developing the product.

And it is a quality product. it just needs to be sold right.

Love those lucky punch comments, first sign of a clueless cocksucker that should find a netball forum to spew **** on.

When a boxer trains for years at throwing punches at a target and it lands it's called doing the job not getting lucky you peanut.

Now go get mummy to take you to the shopping centre for some crayons on the back to school special racks.

Aaahh... if you only knew. Tarver got lucky, Johnson got a Jones jr. who didn't train, Green got lucky against a Jones jr. that didn't train. Green had his 5 minutes in the sun, good for him.

$1.8 each or $1.8 between them?

That makes a Green fight here look good risk reward wise for the US fighters

A 40year old bloke dont come into the ring looking fit as rjj did without training, dieting etc..

Going off what your saying Roy's decline has been purely due to bad luck and not training..

I think the 11 hooks he threw in a few seconds against a somewhat limited fighter in Jeff Lacy begs to differ..He still got the fitness and speed to compete but his punch resistance died the night of RJJ V TARVER 2..

By the way have you found Dawsons nuts to have changed in tecture over the years??
