Sorry, what do people see in Juanma? Lopes better duck Gamboa like he did Caballero.

Gamboa kills this guy. I really don't see what people are seeing in Juanma. The guy is horribly slow with no defense whatsoever. Thudding powerful Margaritoish style of pressure fighter, good on the inside and that's pretty much it. Gamboa steam rolls this guy. Arum better keep protecting Lopes and side step Gamboa the way he did Caballero if he wants to keep Lopes' "0" in tact.

Agreed. Gamboa has his own share of flaws, but they're largely outweighed by his strengths, and he only continues to improve. JuanMa doesn't have any outstanding attributes IMO, and is sub-par in too many to crack the elite level. I've never gotten the hype on this guy.

Juanma is not outstanding in any area? I suppose flashy speed and posing out weighs thudding power and solid technique in your books.

I agree Juanma is over-rated but so is Gamboa IMO. I'd pick Gamboa simply because I think he's a little bigger. Interesting stylistic match up. Very close IMO.

JuanMa is not overrated, he is a great fighter. Gamboa's just abit above him.

Arum is gonna feed Caballero to Gamboa so that Juanma doesn't get hurt.

Lopez doesn't have a whole lot of talent or defensive skills. He's very basic and can be countered at will. Add that he's not very fast, has no head movement, and he's pretty stationary. He can't beat Caballero or Gamboa. They would both make him look bad in different ways.

the Gamboa from last night will beat the dog **** out of juanma. I was very impressed with his strength and athleticism. Only thing I don't understand is; why does he want to go back to Cuba? A life full of oppression, and you want to go back?? Sure family etc.... break them out too.

Its very easy to judge a fighter too much on his last fight, saying that it doesnt surprise me that people seem to think Gamboa will steamroll Lopez because Lopez struggled far more with Mtagwa then Yuri did.
However, styles make fights, and there is no doubt in my mind that Lopez is better prepared for Gamboa than Gamboa is for Lopez. Lopez just beat the rings 2nd ranked featherweight, Gamboa beat a decent super bantam/feather who was overrated based on his performance against a clearly weight drained Juanma.
Juanma has a far better resume, moving up in weight will also add to his power and im guessing also his stamina and endurance of punishment. Gamboa gets caught a lot also and when put in with someone with above decent technical skills, will get clipped. As Lopez hits hard, he will at some stage hurt Gamboa.
I definately woiuld not go running around saying you think Gamboa beats Lopez easy, because Lopez is not Mtagwa.

Again, the Gamboa from last night will beat Juanma. He hits harder, is faster, more athletic, more fluid.

He has charisma, two weight division champ, likes giving the fans a good fight. 28-0-25 with some good opposition that would eventually lead to better opponents. No need to rush the guy to fight everyone. Many names from Cris John to Vasquez to Gamboa. Just sit back and relax, he can't fight them all.:good

obviously you know nothing about sport gamboa been dropped 6 times how many times junama lopez fought louveno 36 an 1 coming into to fight with 5 defense of title while iknow matagiwa gave fits to lopez in later rounds but was made to order for the power punching gamboa these two evenly matched guys whose styles should create a hll of afight something you obvisouly no nothing about
