A Tennessee based heavyweight I used to work with (Keith McKnight (41-4)) held the InterContinental Heavyweight belt and defended it against Jimmy Garrett (3 wins 29 losses). Mainly Midwestern fighters, and journeymen level boxers. Hell if I'm not mistaken I believe Antwun Echols fought Eric Crumble for a WBF Inter Americus belt (or ranking)
IIRC McKnight (and his handlers) spent somewhere between $1,400 and $2,500 (USD) on WBF Sanctioning Fees...!!! Imagine if Crumble would have won
And not to derail this thread, but I read somewhere that Echols only fought 3 times for WBF belts and his opponents were a combined 0-60 (Crumble , Hundley and Shavers)...!!! And all 3 are considered the worst of the worst when it comes to boxing losers.
