i mean, i knew everything that went on and i blamed cortez for not stopping the fight....but i just heard on the radio that the commisioner had asked cortez if it was intentional or unintentional AND CORTEZ SAID IT WAS CLEARLY INTENTIONAL :fire :fire :fire :fire

Cortez needs to retire, he ****ed up.

The rules of boxing have always been at a ref's discretion on most counts, and he used his discretion to DQ Soto, when it was clear he didn't have too. Soto had already won the fight, that glancing shot didn't sew it up, the outcome was already set.

He backed himself in a corner, now he's trying to justify it too himself, because his ego is too big to admit mistake.

yes he did, and cortez should apologise and own up when he saw the replays and say he made a mistake.

that he has not done se should diminish him in most people`s eyes.

i bet in a week or 2 he will recant when he gets no offers for fights and some publicist advises him to do so.

fat lot of good that will do soto.

That pissed me off too! A shame b/c I thought Cortez was a very good referee. I have to take that compliment back.

Well I guess somebody has to put up the video of that incident for us to review it.

While I blame Cortez for ****i'n up by not stopping the action immediately . . . it's clear that the other guy is already on the ground when the punch was thrown . . . and based on the trajectory of the punch . . . YES, it was intentional.

Take note that Soto missed the other guy with an uppercut while on the way down . . . and the second punch's direction was already directly pointed down to the head.

not only did cocktez make Soto lose, but Soto lost out on a potential november fight against manny pacquiao. Now we're stuck with a potential Valero-Pac matchup.

I still have hopes that if the nevada athletic commission revokes the Valero request, Soto will fill in perfectly.

Nah it's not likely to happen. You're dreaming. :D

Don't forget that Soto is under Arum too. If the Valero fight fizzled out it's more on Campbell vs Pac than Soto vs Pac. Campbell's fight with Guzman is not a signed deal yet. :yep

Arum's plan is to make sure another one of his guys (Soto) will take over the WBC Belt that Pac will be officially vacating soon.

uhh..every punch is intentional but the Soto punch wasn't as blatant as the Pac Marquez I 3rd knockdown punch or the MAB Marquez punch.

Well I wouldn't put the punch in the 3rd knockdown on the first Pac/JMM fight on the same level with this one. Marquez gloves and knees where not touching the canvas at that time so it's still technically legal for a punch to be thrown. JMM was hanging on the ropes bud . . . watch that again. :yep

On the MAB marquez fight I'll have to watch that again.

it is, but that doesn't take away from cortez's grimey acts as a referee...
