I believe the judges got the decisions wrong on all 3 Morales v Barrera fights.
I thought Barrera won the 1st, and Morales the next 2.

Anyway, regardless, Morales was fantastic, he had a brilliant jab, laser guided right hand, great body puncher, tremendous fitness, toughness, chin, heart, desire. He had everything you need to be a top, top champion.

To beat sch a fearsome puncher as Maidana(I know the who got the W, but Morales won for def IMO) when people thoght it was suicide, says as much about the man as anything gone before.

Legend is a word thrown around too easily, but Morales is befitting of such a title.

In all seriousness though, I've got an abundance of respect for the dude. I've never really been a believer in that theory which states that if you're a massive fan of either Barrera or Morales you automatically have to have some kind of resentment for the other(although subconsciously I do think I was willing Garcia on at times just to ensure that I can still say without doubt that MAB is superior:yep), I've always been very much an admirer of the fact that he'd ditch his skills which were often greater than that of his opponent's in favour of a tear-up. The Barrera trilogy, first Pacquiao fight, the overlooked epic against In-Jin Chi, etc are classics that should live long in the memory.

And if not for his participation MAB wouldn't be the complete legend that he is, every superhero needs his slightly inferior nemesis after all(I have the trilogy 2-0-1 in favour of Marco and nothing - apart from possibly scoring the second to him also - is going to change that).:yep

I remember when I first watched that fight, I was in awe of both of them to be fair but Morales stuck out for some reason, just loved the way he fought. :good

It's the right call. True legend of the game.

Will be remembered for many a year, good luck to Erik in his retirement.

Great fighter and one of the best of this generation. Had two epic trilogys and many a great fight.

One of the guys I used to watch relentlessly growing up and one of the reasons I'm a big fan of the sport today.
