Chag was great once, but IMO he's done. The spark seems to be gone. Even in his last two wins I don't think he looked very good.

I guess Fury is trying to boost his stock by fighting big names that no longer pose any threat at all.

    Feh ....

So another easy fight for Fury which makes what? 3 easy fights in a row. Something like that. He ducked Price, ducked Wilder and chose to fight a guy with not much power, not much speed, who is 4 years past his prime. Yeah good move.

Chag is fighting in Germany at the weekend, so not sure if this is likely.

  5. Great fight, former world champion.

Glad to see fury didn't resort to cherry picking that bum beating, pencil necked glass jawed hype job windmiller

Impressive fight if it comes off. Listening to Fury it seems to be the fight he wants the most. If Fury was to win it would be quite funny to see a spud eating Mick having a better HW CV than all of his English counterparts.

    :rofl

Pajkic put Fury on his backside, Chisora and Firtha hurt Fury, and you're saying Chagaev doesn't have the pop to hurt him

all in all, decent step up for Fury, his best fight since CHisora

Perhaps Irish Fury wouldn't have the best overall HW CV compared to his active English rivals but if he was to beat Chagaev he would without doubt have the best single win no question. Still, it's a tough fight and it's no cert he can beat Chags.

Fury is in a damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't kind of position.

On the one hand you have a lot of people saying "chagaev will shatter fury's glass chin" and on the other "chagaev is old, shot, diseased, small, can't punch, and was never that good anyway"

and you know after the fight, both sides will be repeating that second line.

I think it's a decent fight for a kid of 24, experienced opponent who was a world champion, and still knows his way around the ring.

Fury has got several years time on his main competitors, so he can afford to take these learning fights.

Mitchell, Price, Wilder etc etc are all at least 3-4 years older than Fury, so they have to step it up.

I think this is a great matchup for Fury. Tough fight for him and a huge stepup in competition to the recent guys he's been fighting. Right fight at the right time for him.

If he wins this he will take a step up in the heavyweight landscape.

This is a good and smart option for Fury.

Big name, over the hill but not completely spend. Not much of a punch, so not extremely dangerous...
Did well against the #3 HW only a year ago.

And the billing can be great; "White Tyson" vs the white pickey Tyson :D
