Broner should be before Fana surely. Broner has no belts where as Fana is for ring. Broner would make a good run up fight cos he may of gone somewhat stale or off the pace with fighting the likes of his last 3 defences. I say this cos I rate Fana a lot higher than Broner.

Fighting Cook then Fana is no correlation really.

What's with people thinking Fana is ring champion? :huh

After getting pummelled by Barrera, he held the South African bought IBF belt for a while and that's about it. He's somehow ranked #1 by Ring Magazine but that doesn't mean whoever he fights will win their title.

And just checking the Ring rankings to see how shite they are.. they still have Roman Martinez ahead of Adrien Broner

If Fana is ranked no.1 and Burns no.2 then they would fight for vacant Ring title :good

Sorry didn't read BrummyLad's post properly (bit pissed). I thought he meant Broner should fight Fana for the ring title then the winner fight Burns because Burns hadn't earned a shot after beating Cook.

Yeah I know that Moe. Burns should fight Fana next if he can and get the Ring title. Not only because I think it's an easier fight, but it will be a really good achievement in the long run to go down as Ring champion.

Broner is overrated garbage, but he's still probably too fast for Ricky.

Broner's day will come soon enough though :deal

It's a strong opinion, I know. But today I've watched him struggle with a glass jawed Aussie and arguably lose to a guy he fought on 4 days notice. He's a massively flawed fighter, with no sense of timing, poor technique and working solely on speed. He operates with speed as the core of his game, and that is a very fundamentaly flawed game IMO. That speed is ridiculous though.

He'll lose when he steps up to the top (lucky the judges helped him out against Ponce). I don't have a personal grudge against Broner, but he's honestly not very good from what I've seen of him (a fair bit like).

This division is hopeless really. Zzzzzzzzzzzz.

We need Gamboa in it to liven it up.

It's not exactly piping hot, but I think it get's a bad rep. There are some quality prospects in the division, who will be contending for titles soon I reckon. **** Eloy Perez, it's guys like Luis Cruz and Argenis Mendez, skilled technicians, who I expect to take the division a long way :yep.

The legend of Fernando Quintero lives on!!!!!!!

If Carlos Ivan Velasquez hadn't have had injury troubles, then he would have took this division by storm by now :deal

Maybe. I was over-exaggerating about him taking the division by storm, but from the couple of fights I've seen of him (admittedly against padded fighters) and his amateur credentials (which includes a win over Gamboa) he is a very good prospect. Just a shame that he has been out for so long.

I've watched lots of the more mainstream prospects, and I've never heard of this fella, but he sounds good and I'll definetely try and watch a couple of his fights, see how he compares to the rest. :good

Fair enough, I admit I know next to nothing about the upcomers.

Just think the top of the division is pretty appalling. Ricky Burns for ****s sake? I mean he's solid but...come on now. Fana? How old is he now, 50 years old?

And you know its bad when everyone says Martinez was the consensus #1! Even if he was he got that rep by knocking over Nicky Cook
