Fair dinkum if that's your preference. Though I don't think anyone is slating the Martinez win, I'm certainly not, good performance over a good opponent. Ricky's defences have been poor though. I don't know who's fault that is, and I'm not blaming anyone in particular, but they have been poor and I think it's more than fair to criticise them.

 

No probs sportsleader, its all about opinions at the end of the day. Just ****in irks me the way the poor lad is vilified here, do people really think he should have the division cleaned up within a year of him beating Martinez?

I do think some of the criticism he get's is rather unwarranted, he's only doing what he can and beating whoever is in front of him. It's reasonable to criticise some of his defences (Laryea) but it's unfair to call him a 'joke' or things similar to that which I've seen on here. He's had some shocking defences, but seeing as a Fana or Broner fight is on the horizon, I can't complain really.

I don't think anyone expected him to clean it out, very few fighters do. Well, at least more level-headed people didn't expect him to. But I think you can acknowledge why people would be frustrated mate, I mean, the other champions aren't fighting stellar opposition either, but they certainly are a couple of levels above Burns' opponents, which of course isn't his fault, but it's his career and it's what he'll be judged on eventually.

A lot of wailing & gnashing of teeth going on after Burns blitzed Cook, but facts are facts, & esteemed & respected boxing men like Steve Bunce gave Cook a big chance in the fight, I just think its sour grapes cos Ricky crushed him. Instead of admitting Burns is looking awesome? The easy road to take is that Cook shouldnt have been there, a guy that was good enough to beat a man that beat Burns in the past!!!

Just suck it up, cos its only going to get worse as Burns aint going anywhere, & hes only going to get better:deal
