Are you kidding me? If Floyd came out today and said he consulted experts and 10 days is sufficient so he'll do that, damn near this whole board would fill up with threads and posts saying everyone knew Floyd was wrong in requesting it up until the day of the fight and it was only to hurt Pac. If he doesn't stick to his guns he will be criticized for it. If he sticks to his guns he's criticized for it. You cannot honestly say fans will be happy if he accepts 7 days AND won't criticize him for waiting this long to change it. Despite what we want the best thing for Floyd to do is stick to his guns. He's going to look bad either way in most people's opinions, might as well get hated on for doing what he wants. Not flip flopping his stance on full random drug testing like others are. Sorry if that doesn't fit the fans agenda but we all know Floyd does what he wants.

Rational people already know this. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out.

So what smart man would knowingly and willfully bring that kind of criticism upon himself by stating his requests were unnecessary? Again, the smart move for Floyd is stick to his guns.

The criticism is already there. If he attributed his change of stance to having received a professional opinion showing him why he had room to be flexible and still ensure a clean fight, he'd be able to save some face.

Balking at signing, making a racist video rant, and promptly losing "the urge" surely brought on more criticism, no? Are these the carefully calculated actions of this "smart man" you're referring to?

If he attributed his change of stance to having received a professional opinion I believe it would save face for the change, but you're still going off the thinking it would be better for him to change his stance. Why? Why should he have to change and not Pac? If either of them agree they'll be giving up leverage. Everything we heard negotiated the first time around was to benefit Manny more than Floyd, why give Manny everything? This fight comes down to who's willing to compromise their wants to benefit the others. Looks like neither are willing to... It's a two way road, always will be.

Yes all of those brough on more criticism, but it's not stopping the fight from happening nor is it giving anyone more leverage. When's the next time Floyd's fighting? Nobody knows. Yet he's on people's minds more than fighters who are fighting. I'm not saying he did each on purpose to remain relevent during his vacation, but they sure as hell did the trick.

Pretty much everyone agrees they won't test that close to the fight. The cutoff date seems to be more principle now than anything else. Whoever gives in gives up leverage. Neither seem to want to budge.
