SMARTL is WADA accredited. They follow the guidelines put forth by WADA. VADA chose SMRTL to analyze the sample they collected.

AGAIN, do you really think the SMRTL director would lose its WADA accreditation, compromise its reputation and that of VADA, including the directors own reputation and career?

I saw that but a dirty test is always a serious matter and a red flag. His tests coming back clean are great but it doesn’t prove he wasn’t doping....it only proves he has cycled off or adjusted his masking measures to beat the subsequent tests he knew were coming up.

I’m not surprised Canelo was not reprimanded in any way considering what he means to Boxing from a financial standpoint. Had this been an other boxer it wouldn’t have been swept under the rug. They would have had to provide substantial proof that the meat he ate was contaminated like the other athletes who were absolved of any wrong doing. They had to pinpoint the source of the meat they injested and provide records of Purcahsing that meat with dates associated with when they were tested.

The athletes like Morales any many others who were fined and/or suspended could not provide any proof of the contaminated meat they supposedly ate.

 

He flushed his reputation as an impartial official down the toilet when he started offering up potential excuses for one of his test subject's failed test. It may well be unprecedented.

I know you know this but can't handle your favourite fighter being exposed to this level of legitimate criticism.

Definitely agree with this. In fact, I would not complain had they suspended, after all he did test positive.

It doesn't prove he was doping, but the director putting his reputation and the integrity of his lab and VADA on the line says a lot.

I disagree with this. Francisco Vargas who is not a huge draw, and he doesn't even fight in a division that generates a lot of income for the industry also tested positive for clenbeturol and his tests were also consistent with tainted meat, he was not fined or suspended.

Again, suspension would be very reasonable, but the testing lab has pretty much cleared him, VADA did not protest, and the NSAC has also cleared him based on the directors testimony.

I don't know much about this, not sure if Vargas provided anything, don't know if Canelo did or didn't either, all I know is the director said the findings were consistent with contaminated meat.

 

How can he be putting his integrity or rep on the line when all he said was that it was consistent?

He tested positive for clenbeturol so I have no issues if the fight got postponed, if he got suspended, and fined.

The official stated what he deemed truth and fair according to the findings. VADA and WADA could have protested and taken away his labs accreditation and refuted what the director said if those agencies felt that lab was acting unethical and against guidelines.

I am a fan of Canelo, but unlike many of his haters I am not emotionally invested to the point that I put any single boxer including Canelo above the sport.
