That was a wild event to see happen. I still mostly blame a lot of the brain injures on weight cutting. We never see it this bad for guys this young at Heavyweight.

Really sad, especially after seeing the video the other day and assuming he was OK. Hope he pulls through.

I was hoping it was a temporary thing, but I guess not. Very sad. I didn't watch the fight but sounds like he wasn't taking a lot of punishment. Maybe a pre-existing condition like Gerald McClellan had that opened up during the bout.

    Hope he makes it.

Sad to hear. Honestly, watching the footage for the first time it looked really suspicious. Something obviously went off in his brain after taking that jab.

God that's awful. Judging from the brief bit of footage we saw there was nothing the ref could do either. He waved it off immediately as soon as he realized something was wrong. I assumed Simiso had recovered when I first saw the video and that he was OK now. But then yesterday we heard he was in a coma and then today we hear he's passed away :shakehead:

    RIP

    RIP warrior. I hate this.

It also underscores that a lot of the dangers in boxing happen out of sight. Whether in sparring, prior fights, etc, there’s a lot of risk you can’t account for.

The guy celebrating his win after getting knocked down and seeing his opponent disoriented like that must feel like an idiot now that his opponent died.
