Hello I am abit freakish in this way , as I am right handed, and I feel allot more at ease moving around, and throwing combos as southpaw, although I can fight orthodox. There has been various stuff like this in the past that go against how I "should" do things. When I was a kid I used to skate goofy (left footed) even though I am right footed. Also been sparring vs a few opponants past few weeks and I have ALLOT more success rate in southpaw and obviously more arkward. Would you advise to work on my power in my left and carry on fighting predominantly southpaw? or go against how I feel and practice and fight orthodox since I carry the most power In my right? Or switch hit (is this a good thing to possess?) and go and join Brendan Ingle and co.:yep Oh also, is it known of for this sorta thing ? or am I just a goonatsch? Any pros that fight southpaw but are right handed ? Cheers for your help again fellas. Logan
Well I can comment personally because I'm also a right-handed southpaw. I personally find it more successful since my jab is stronger, and I still have pop in my left so stick with it. Now you could try to work on being orthodox and possibly switch it up a bit, but if you're far into training then don't bother trying to convert
I'm a left handed southpaw, and seriously, sometimes I really on my big left hook to just put me into that comfort zone. I work hard on my jab and right hook though and they have decent power.
same boat but i am left handed, i find that i can swap and change but have more power in my left, just do what feels right
i'm left handed and orthodox, i like having my dominant hand in front. it takes a little more work than for most people to get power out of the right hand, but it's nice to have a strong and intuitive jab/hook. people always comment that they're surprised by my jab until i tell them i'm left handed. jeet kune do, if i'm not mistaken, advocates keeping your power hand in front.
Winky Wright is a right handed southpaw I think Dzinziruik is right handed also In contrast De La Hoya is a left handed Orthodox fight Cotto is left handed You can see something very common in all of them
Nothing is wrong with it as long as you perfect fighting from a single stance or doing QUICK switches. Nothing worse than watching a guy who always switches run into a good solid fighter. Then the switching doesn't help and he is just a mediocre fighter in one stance and a bad one in the other. He is in for a loooooong night!

Yeah im a right handed southpaw but tend to switch hit quite alot the lead right hook to the body is a great weapon for a right handed southpaw, im a bit like a crap version of Ryan Rhodes also make sure you keep your right foot on the outside of your opponents lead foot and circle if your fighting a orthodox fighter it ruins there jab and throws off there balance.
