Southpaw??

    i see alot of routines and such say to fight regularly and then once in a while switch to southpaw. should i wait until i am good with orthodox before i start incorporating southpaw?

    If you want to incorporate fighting southpaw into your fight game, do it just like you did learning to fight as a righty... surely but slowly. Just a bit at a time.

    Put a few rounds everyday into your shadowboxing and bag work. A good progression would be to switch mid-round for a few combos at a time before going whole rounds in that stance until gradually incorporating a whole day as a southpaw. Same for sparring. A few snippets here and there, then maybe a whole round, and eventually a whole sparring session.

    It's good for your game even if you're never gonna fight that way because it is said to improve the motorskills on your regular side. It's like if you do dumb bell curls with just the right hand only, you're gains will eventually taper off due the body sensing an imbalance with the non-exercised arm. But if you start curling with the left hand, the body senses a "catch up" and will let the right hand start getting gains again.

    i hate it when fighters switch.. so ****ing stupid unless you brake a hand. you train every day as you natural stance and then try something new that you dont even do in training is just stupid.

    Yeah man.

    Learn a little southpaw. Start out with doing some bag drills. Best with a partener.

    Do some combos in southpaw stance. You need to learn to fight both ways just in case you hurt your hand during a fight.

    iight. thats good cuz i can wrestle both stances to. so i guess it shouldnt be to hard. thanks.

    You try that **** I was talking about before?

    Where you get a partener to hold the back and do sets of combinations?

    Mayweather is up to 3,000 punches on that routine.

    It's a goodway to build yourself up. Focus mostly on technique though.

    And change it up of course. Pretty soon your hands will feel like they got arthritis if you don't.
