I don't think I've seen any mention of southpaws who were known for throwing good uppercuts. Who are some fighters you can think of who threw some nice uppercuts in the southpaw stance? I've always been impressed with Zab Judah's left uppercut, his signature punch.
Hagler used the right uppercut well at times v Sibson as a lead to set up fast combos. 2:13 This content is protected
I guess I should have worded it better. There really isn't that many southpaws that were known for throwing good uppercuts. From time to time there'd be threads about fighters who threw great uppercuts and chances are you won't see any southpaws that are mentioned.
Michael Moorer had great offensive skills and brilliant uppercuts. Watch Alex Stewart and Bert Cooper fights.
Mark Johnson and Michael Moorer were the first two that came to mind. And yeah, Zab, while not a great fighter, threw really nice uppercuts with either hand. Then you have the offensive machine southpaws like Hagler and Saldivar, that literally threw every punch in the book.
Although he's a modern fighter, tevin farmer showed some nice inside fighting and a superb left uppercut in his last fight with Fonseca.
