    Yes, Michael Moorer was.

I've read Whitaker is right handed.

Jim Watt was a converted right hander who simply felt more comfortable boxing as a southpaw.

Ayub Kalule is right-handed. Fought as a southpaw because his brother, who was left-handed, taught him to box and not knowing any differently picked up the style and was evidently comfortable with it.

On southpaws, boxing is seeing more of them. If a fighter jabs and hook better with one hand by a good margin, he should consider that being his stance.

In addition, footwork and balance can be peculiar for fighters. If you feel better with right foot in front, maybe you should try southpaw.

very interesting mendoza, another thing that some (but im sure not all) people do more naturally is move their head more effectively in a converted southpaw stance, i did when i was learning a little bit of begginer boxing at the community gym.

Back in the day, most of the trainers would switch natural left-handed fighters to orthodox because it was harder for southpaws to get fights.

I do think the sweet science might get a little sweeter as the years roll on. Modern machines can measure the speed and psi of punches, and they often vary greatly between the hands. Flexibility is similar. Beleive it our not, punch resistance differ on different sides of the body too.

Angelo Dundee once said some people take hooks, and other people can take crosses all day, but the same people who can take hooks all day cannot take crosses and vice versa.

Boxers are very intricate. A true master trainer does not force his style on his fighter; rather he builds the fighters style around his attributes. I also believe a fighter has to put his own final additions on his style.

chad dawson is another "right handed southpaw"... (so close to a oxymoron)
