Welcome. Pernell Whitaker, Marvin Hagler, Macho Camacho, Michael Nunn, and Michael Moorer at LHW are some other great examples.

if you want a very good defense, i would suggest look up to videos of penalosa. not the most exciting fighter out there but you will not go wrong with him.

try to find guys who use there southpaw style effectivly without being to defencive. hagler is a perfect example. he used a great jab and move style and then could switch it up to a counter punching style and then a brawling style when he needed to.

orthodox southpaws i think the term is called.

some guys are just giving names of fighters with a southpaw stance.

i would look into the guys who arnt amazingly talented but have great basics. a good pick is a guy named adrian dodson a southpaw but had all the basics locked.

take any of his fights he shows great southpaw footwork and use of the sneaky left cross and right uppercut. sadly he was very badly conditioned and had a bit of a soft jaw and also was your very typical amatuer boxer who has a good defence and a good offence but cant mix them together properly. but apart form the mental issues his technique is superb.

i would also praise joel casamayor he uses that right hand like he was lunging a broom handle into your face. and then moves to the righ side covering himself with it and getting him self out of trouble. also his footwork is very good and one of the best ive seen form a southpaw. use of the jab cross then ending with a jab is very awkward for a orthy but technically sound in boxing circles.
