Spadafora had the style to beat Mayweather

Yep. That’s some good work he’s putting on iv boy there. Taking it to floyd as good as Castillo did in fight #1!!

 

Always the trouble with these things. I don’t believe sparring is indicative of too much when you consider all the factors that could contribute to what you’re seeing.

 

Spadafora had very good skills. Too bad he wasn’t able to focus those skills in the ring, instead falling to crime and drugs. Wasted talent.

 

Its so funny to hear all these BS excuses from the Floyd supporters who are FULL OF IT.
The story was that Spadafora was getting ready for a fight and his trainer DID NOT want him to spar with Floyd because accidents can happen and Spadafora had a fight coming up.
So Floyd and his daddy kept coming to the gym talking a bunch of smack to Spadafora about how Floyd would do this or that to him.
Finally Spadafora had enough of the trash talking and Spadaforas trainer did as well and GAVE FLOYD HIS WISH WHICH WAS TO SPAR.
And Floyd got his BUTT KICKED and all the sudden he is out of shape.
Funny when Spadafora still had a name Floyd would not go anywhere near him- and make no mistake about it that fight would have sold just on the sparring tape alone- people would have paid to see it.

 

If you could have gotten him away from his hometown and away from certain "friends" of his Spaddy would have had a chance to have been a truly great fighter.
Watch the angles he uses when he was coming up- you do not see anyone use those types of angles especially from a southpaw stance.
After he won the title that was pretty much it for Spaddy when it came to being disciplined.

That's one way of looking at it. Spadafora also ruined his prime by shooting a pregnant woman.

 

Mayweather was out of shape and lost a sparring session doesn't mean much.....

Spadafora never really went to the next level and was struggling vs the likes of Leonard Dorin who beat him up and was robbed of a decision.

 

The only thing Paulie is better at than Floyd, is abusing women. Other than that, Mayweather whoops Pualie from pillar to post in a real boxing match.

 

Even from the perspective of skills, I can't see anything special in him. Is he good? Yes. Fast and slick and southpaw. But he is hardly out of the norm for southpaws, which is the only advantage he would have had on Mayweather.

 

I remember a big deal being made of that sparring way back in the day. Spadafora was second perhaps only to Margarito and Williams as "the guy with the blueprint/tools/style to beat prime Mayweather!" on internet forums.

In reality, Mayweather beat (albeit with moderate difficulty) a much better and more dangerous version of Spadafora, in Judah.
