Spadafora's legal woes continue!!

    EDINBORO -- Pittsburgh boxer Paul Spadafora, who scored a victory in the ring in Erie on Friday, was charged with violating a protection-from-abuse order today at a motel in Edinboro.

    Edinboro police accused Spadafora, 32, of being in the same motel room with his former fiancee, Nadine Russo, whom he once shot and who obtained a PFA against him in Erie County Court in June.

    Russo's PFA is effective until June 2010, and prohibits Spadafora from having any communication with Russo, according to the affidavit of probable cause filed today.

    Edinboro Patrolman Todd Eaglen said in the affidavit that he found Spadafora with Russo at the Edinboro Inn, 410 W. Plum St. He said he was called to the motel to recover a stolen vehicle police said was in Russo's possession.

    Spadafora is free on an unsecured bond of $2,500.

    Spadafora, a former International Boxing Federation world lightweight champion, fought at the Avalon Hotel Friday in his first bout in more than a year.

    Spadafora, known as the "Pittsburgh Kid," defeated welterweight Shad Howard in a unanimous decision.

    Spadafora was out of boxing while he served a 13-month prison term for the October 2003 shooting of Russo. Last summer, Spadafora found himself back in prison because of a parole violation over the Russo shooting. Also, in June, Russo got the PFA against Spadafora after Spadafora failed to get one against her.

    Spadafora was released in August after more than two months at the state prison in Albion over the parole violation.

    thats 1 guy id love to fight over 12 rounds i know hes a light weight but a catchweight of 33 or whatever or id fight at 135 if need be ,i know id beat him styles make fights dorin gave him nightmares and me and leonard dorin could almost be called identcal styles.spadafora tires in the late rounds where as i get srtonger i think i possibly might get the ref to stop it or win a wide decision.im faster ,better jab,better defense,only thing hes got is a little bit more mustard on his shots.more power.

    Thought ud retired, how good is Spaddy, hes not P4P level but he wasnt a bad belt holder, and no offense but he has being operating at a higher level, its harder to look as impressive at that level.

    This was a known potential problem being as they have a son together! The judges order made some sense but was likely to eventually turn into THIS:verysad :verysad :verysad

    Not sure what the ramifications are yet. This is ridiculous every time he gets started? The car crashes again:yikes This kid should be allowed to provide for his/sons/daughters future. It must BE OBVIOUS at this point, that Spadafora isnt ALL 2 BLAME here.

    Isnt stealing a car(well borrowing too long), chasing the father of you're child, and the man who shot you REAL LOVE???:huh

    ya... the saying style make fights is true to an extent... but its overplayed, you have to be a level of fighter to EFFECTIVLY EMPLOY your style against that fighter....

    Like I said, it must be obvious theres an issue aside from Spat at this point. One can only hope and believe that that should factor in a bit.

    if he gets locked up again for more than 6 months hes done..ita a small charge on top of many chharges..theyll probably hit him with the book..im surprised they dont have him on a detainer

    Many are seemingly a little lost here, after all they've been through? Its obvious the issue is for both of them.

    The situation is a mess and child is involved. No easy answer but Spadafora himself cant be blamed entirely.
